Amazon universal registry

Has anyone used this all the way through? do you know if it updates and shows if somethings been purchased? I've heard issues with other universal registries but was hoping amazon's would be different.
thanks!!

Re: Amazon universal registry

  • I am using Amazon's Universal Registry and have been very happy with it! When an item is purchased from an external website, the registry updates to say either purchased for you or purchased elsewhere for you. It also gives you the date when the purchase was made. :)

  • It works pretty well.  The only thing we noticed is that when the guest goes to the external website, your shipping address isn't automatically an option, which it is on most regular registries.  I would recommend having your shipping address displayed on your wedding website (if you have one), so it's easy for people to find.  We had a few people email us to ask.

  • not a lot of people purchase online...my MOH did the amazon registry & she received most of her gifts from BB&B....but she did receive a lot of amazon gift cards, so she'll be able to purchase things with that.

My friend did one and received almost everything, as PP said, they don't transfer your address to an external website like Registry360 does, so under the "Notes" section for each item, they had to list their address.
  • We are registered at BBB & Macy's but at this point my Macy's one is almost empty and there's not too much on the BBB one, most of the stuff is on Amazon because we don't need much for house hold items or don't want to be stuck with just BBB & Macy's options.  I did check the option to share my address with 3rd party sites but it sounds like maybe that still doesn't work?  I guess we will see.. but glad to hear it works otherwise! That's where I have all my favorite stuff listed!
