Runners! How do you carry water?

Hey all!

I'm just curious about how everyone on here who runs carries their water with them? I've been looking at Camel Back Pack things and they look neat - but has anyone tried them? Any other suggestions too? I just can't run without water, and carrying my water bottle is giving me a hand cramp lol.

Thanks!
Sarah

  • I love my camel pack.  Love it.  Super easy to use and keeps the water cool.  Not a bad option if you don't mind the extra weight.
  • Thanks for the links K! Both of those look like they'd feel better, and the second one looks neat-o!

Anna, I am jealous. I think I might just have to get one. Someone is selling theirs on kijiji right now which is what got me thinking, but I think it's a little too gross to buy a used one.. just not sure about that lol.

<div>Do not buy a used one.  EWW.  Potential mold and bacteria nightmare.</div><div>
</div><div>This is the one I have and it works great:  <a href="http://compare.ebay.com/like/350518251312?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar" rel="nofollow">http://compare.ebay.com/like/350518251312?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar</a></div>
  • Haha yeah, I don't think I would be able to drink out of someone else's. There's no wonder it's been for sale for like two months.. for $5.

    Thanks for the link!

  • I have to use a camel back at work (I'm in the military) I tried using one in my civilian clothes for a 12 mile run.  It bounced up and down the whole time, rubbing on my shirt.  Now the shirt is basically ruined, it has those lint-like bumps all over the back, like old sweaters get.  They sell water bottles for runners, they're small with a mesh handle thing that wraps around your hand.  Check out "Running water bottle" on amazon.
  • Short runs I carry a bottle in my hand, long runs Fuel Belt! I have a 2 bottler and a 4. I love those things!

My skirts have 2 pockets so I shove snacks and medical ID in there.

I wear a fuel belt. I can't get over the thought that a camelback would bounce up and down and cause all kinds of chafing on long runs.
