planning...

how long did it take you to plan your wedding, or how long were you engaged for before you got married?

We have been engaged for almost TWO YEARS! haha.

Our wedding is in September and we just started planning in like...December. So, 9ish months or so of planning I guess. Its a relatively small gathering, and a small budget involved, so theres not that much to plan in our case really...just a ton of DIY projects that are slowly eating away at my soul...ughhhhh. =P

We had an entire year to plan.

Active planning time was only about 6 months.  Once things were booked in the beginning, there was a HUGE lag time on picking colors, flowers, and tastings.  As things got closer, it got a little busy again.

I didn't do any DIY cause I'm lazy like that.

Planning can be as hectic and busy or relaxed and easy as you make it.

I've seen some awesome knot weddings that were planned in 3-6 months.

I figured 12 months was average and normal to plan a wedding. My mom has been married 30 years and acts like that is rushing. I think wedding planning has changed a lot since my parents generation or something.

I will be engaged for a year and 8 months before I get married. It just happened that way. I got A LOT of my planning done in the first part of my planning. Then I had a lot of time where I had nothing to do. Now I am a month and a half out and I feel like I have a decent amount of things to do. You can definitely plan a wedding in a year! We are here to help too! The only thing is you may have to be flexible on days since some of the more popular sites fill up fast. Good luck planning!

We will be engaged for 15 months before the wedding...I agree w/ pp. it goes busy at first, slow in the middle and busy now that we have less than 2 months left. Good luck!

My wedding is in 2 weeks, and I got engaged Jan 2009.  I think that was a good amount of time for me to plan the wedding.

Our wedding was about 10 months after we got engaged, but we didn't really start planning until about two months after we got engaged. I'm kind of glad we did it in less than a year, because I think the lag-time in the middle would have annoyed me. Patience has never been my virtue.

We wanted to do it outdoors, so we didn't want to have the wedding any closer into summer in case of hurricanes or anything. We figured late March was as late as we would risk the weather that way- anything after that and we would have to have an indoor space. That's why we didn't wait longer.

    I wasn't really stressed until the week of, then I had a mini-breakdown or 2  :)

I got engaged in October and the wedding is in July. I had everything planned by Jan 1, so I am just waiting and creating DIY projects to keep me involved haha. My dad originally freaked out bc its "impossible" to get a dress in and plan a wedding in less than a year... hah proved him wrong!

We were 'officially' engaged thirteen months to the day. But we started planning our wedding prior to the ring so really it was just under a year and a half.
    That's Mrs.skWhitneyAmanda to you!
