processional music idea

Ok so I'm going for a different kind of wedding these days, trying to make things unique ya know? So I was thinking for the processional music I was thinking of having background music of some sort but over the music I wanted to have funny/cute/meaningful love quotes from our favorite movies, I don't even know how to do this but if I can find a way  to get it together do you think this would be a good idea or is it just too weird?

I think if done right it could be cute. If you're using your reception DJ for your ceremony music as well then they should be able to overlap tracks to create it custom for you. As long as you can get the audio files of the quotes, it's doable. Otherwise, anyone with a mac and whatever the music editing software that comes on it is can probably figure it out easy enough.

  • I'm lousy with computers so I've got nothing as far as how you would edit this together. I think the concept is cute, but the execution might be a little confusing/distracting (I'd be the guest looking around to see who was talking). Is there another way you could work the quotes into things? Earlier today I saw where a bride used these 2 sided frames (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30151035/) for table names. The tables were all named after specific events in the couple's relationship, and on the opposite side of the name, there was a little anecdote about that event. You could maybe do something like that...use the movie titles for table names, then put the quote from each movie on the other side. It also gives your guests a little something to mess around with at the table while they're sitting there.
  • This sounds like a cute idea! Where are you having the ceremony? If it's in a church it might be a good idea to check if they would be OK with you doing something unique for your music, I remember seing on my local boards that some churches have restrictions on what you can do for your ceremony.

  • No its going to outside near mountains, and it won't be religious ceremony either I was thinking of justice of the peace style.  That's why I wanted the qoutes to make it feel a bit light and have it more personal since we prob won't be doing our own vows so I thought the quotes would be our vows to each other, if that makes any sense and may sound horribly cheesy but both of us are not public speakers whatsoever.

Not cheesy at all, I think it's a very cute idea! I would definitely talk to a DJ then, I'm sure he would be able to point you in a right direction. I don't see it being too difficult to do though with the way technology is these days. </p>
