Those are shockingly blue! I've never seen hydrangeas like that before and I can only imagine they would be very expensive!

I have never seen them that blue...could the photo be enhanced?

The depth of color of hydrangeas is dependent on the acidity of the soil. More acidity (like adding coffee grounds to the soil) makes the blue color much more rich. Most florists would be able to get hydrangeas deep blue like that. It is not photoshopped or dyed or anything :)

I have "heard" that hydrangea photograph bluer than they appear, but I'm neither photographer, florist nor hydrangea fan.  I'm with you, though, wondering if that photo might be enhanced.

The best person to ask is a florist.  Good luck!!!

it's a dutch hydrangea and it is its the most vibrant when it is in season and in full bloom. And yes,it is very expensive. you can get white/blue hydrangeas at a reasonalble cost, but they come from so. america

like a pp mentioned the color depends on the acidity of the soil, I don't see why it should be that more expensive, because its the same plant just different environmental factors

Yes, they come that blue. You can see if your florist can get that variety. Or you could sub for something else that is that blue if they are too expensive (bachelor buttons, forget-me-nots, hyacinth, delphinium, etc.)

I have seen hydrangeas that blue before, but only once or twice.  They were very large, and about $20 a stem.

You could probably special order them, but be prepared ot pay a premium price, AND have a good "plan B".

those sre dutch blue hydrangea and really expensive.. like $15 per stem unless you can find a place to pick them.   You won't be finding them online for a few bucks each...

You can get light blue or white from equador and it is beautiful.

wholesale flowers from equador are beautiful and inexpensive but because of the uniform day length they cannot get the intense color on the equator... that needs to be don in a climate with slow maturity...or as a greenhouse with lighting project... thus the expense... Or, like me you can live on Cape Cod and grow them yourself?

Yes they do come that gorgeously blue....and are worth every penny if you can swing it!
