What are some of your favorite (free) coupon sites? The ones I see are always a bust. FI and I are moving into a new apartment, and we need some deals on things like TP, cleaning products, etc.
Also, Sunday Papers, RedPlum, Smartsource, PG&E, etc. They all have websites and FB pages as well. I follow ALL of my blogs on FB as they post their deals there :P
Okay so the basics of couponing that I can help with an example:
Carmex - $1.09 Regular Price
Every item you can use a store specific coupon and a manufacturer coupon. This week, I had a Tom Thumb/Safeway Coupon for 40 cents off 1 Carmex product. Generally store coupons aren't multiplied.
Carmex - $.69 with Tom Thumb Coupon
I also had a $.30 off manufacturers coupon. My store triples every coupon up to 30 cents, so this one ended up being $.90 off.
Carmex - $ -0.21 with Manufacturer coupon being tripled.
So basically, the store (which DOES allow coupon overages - not all do) paid me 21 cents to take these out of the store. I bought 10 of them with the same coupons with each totalling to a $2.10 credit in my favor to spend on something I wasn't getting any deal on.
The best stores for STORE coupons:
Kroger Albertson's Safeway/Randall's/Tom Thumb CVS Walgreen's Target
I also make sure to hold onto coupons until 1.) I get a great deal early before they expire or I use them right before they expire. The worst feeling is using a coupon 1 week then a deal that makes the item free coming along the next week!
