Marriage Certificate

So after the ceremony our preacher took our license to the courthouse. My question is will they send a copy back to us or will we have to go to them to get the copy? If they send it, how long does it normally take?

I don't know if it's different between states and counties but ours was waiting for us when we got home from the honeymoon.

I've tried to Google to find out but can't get a clear answer. I'm going to wait a little while to see if it gets mailed. If not I will go to the courthouse.

I would just call or email your preacher I'm sure he would know as I'm sure he has been asked that question before. Our Chaplain told us it would be mailed to us and we did not have to worry about it he would handle everything.

We had to go and pick ours up but it may vary by state.

Ours came in the mail about 3 weeks after the wedding.

I got home today and it was in the mail! I got married on Saturday. He filed it on Monday and by Wednesday it is here! Yay! Time to get started changing everything!

We had to go get ours and it took a little while. I think its by state.

We had to go to the courthouse and pay twenty dollars for a certified copy. It was there eleven days after our wedding, and maybe before but we didn't check until then.
