B12

Has anyone tried B12 shots? Do they work?

Re: B12

  • Do they work for what? What are you trying to accomplish?
  • For weight loss?  It's a terrible idea that hasn't been around long enough to see the negative effects, though the 'positive ones' for weight loss are non-existent.  If you look at what B12 is truly for, you'll realize how easily you can mess up your internal health (unless, of course, you have a true deficiency.)

Try the gym and healthy food instead.  You'll thank yourself later for actually being healthy.

  • Do they work for what?
Do you understand what B12 does for your body, or are you just thinking, "hey.. it's claiming weightloss, it's a vitamin, can't go wrong? "

You should only be taking b12 shots if you have a significant deficiency. I'm VEGAN and IIIII don't even have a deficiency (although, to be fair, I do take a b complex supplement on days that I don't eat things like nutritional yeast)

Having a b12 deficiency is NOT fun, and it's VERY noticeable. Been there, done that, fixed that, moved on.

Do your research, understand what roles B12 play in your body, then find the natural way to get it (chances are, you are already getting plenty of it)

  • B12 is water soluble.  Do you know what that means?  Excess amounts are excreted in urine.

Basically, what will happen if you get B12 injections without having a deficiency is that you'll pee out all the money you spent on it.

Provided, of course, you don't have one of the conditions that makes high levels of B12 dangerous.  Then, you could get very sick instead.

    Sound like a good idea?
