Please reconsider using Rev. David Beronio as your officiant

We were married by Rev. David Beronio 2 weeks ago, and I was far from impressed with the way things turned out.  While I had several complaints, my main issue was that he blatantly disregarded our wishes.  He has a website where you can look up sample ceremonies and vows, etc, and he says you can customize everything however you'd like it.  We did just that, and emailed our ceremony to him.  He wrote back, asking if he could add to the ceremony to lengthen it.  We told him no, because we wanted it short and liked it the way it was.  On our wedding day, he added in all kinds of filler, and probably made the ceremony about twice as long as it would have been.  I was super bummed, but didn't know what to do, other than interrupt him, so I said nothing.

If you're getting married at Lake Tahoe, do not hire Rev. Beronio if you want your wishes to be honored on your wedding day.

That is too bad..It stinks that you had a bad experience. My experience w/ Rev. Beronio was very different. He coordinated our wedding so that we didn't have to worry about any details the day of in terms of getting everyone lined up etc.. And he completely personalized it for us...we wrote our own "repeat after me" type vows, and our own sand ceremony reading. And we asked him to cut out alot of the stuff he suggests on his website, which he did. Our ceremony was only about 12 minutes long.

Haha-- maybe I just got him on an extremely bad day?  Did you happen to get married after August 16th?  That's when I sent him a professional, but strongly worded email about how he should really look into supporting a couple's wishes and not going behind their backs and changing things.  Although I also saw on your other post that he screwed up the order on your ceremony too.  If nothing else, he seems to have a hard time with the order of ceremonies!

It's so ironic that your ceremony was 12 minutes long.  After we emailed him ours, he wanted to lengthen it because it was only about 12 minutes.  In the end it came out to about 20.  I'm still upset about it, apparently, because I'm still ranting on here.  It probably doesn't help that we got our pics back and I'm only smiling in about 2 of the ceremony pics.  I'm giving Beronio the evil eye in all the rest of them.

My warning still stands, I'm afraid.
