I don't have experience with them, but I love the venue, it's gorgeous there, and you can dress it up as much or as little as you want and it still looks great.

I was considering this as a venue for my wedding, and was SOOOO disappointed when I drove by.  The place is run down (rusty siding, peeling paint on the windows, astroturf leading into the main entrance...), there is not really any outdoor space, I couldn't find the waterwheel they so gorgeously pictured on their website...  I was excited by the pictures on the website, the great reviews and the prices on the catering packages...  but the look was so not what I wanted for my wedding.

I ended up choosing the Red Lion Inn in Cohassett, which does live up to all the pictures on it's site and has the character I was looking for my ceremony and reception.  And I am on a tight budget and managed to negotiate with them so they fit with what I could afford.

Oh no Sepincipe...now I'm super worried. We're going to look at it on Thursday. The pictures do look amazing and we're running out of ideas. Thank you for sharing this with me!!! I'll definetely post an update later if it's still in shambles or not.

I had my mother, my sister, and my MIL all go down there to check it out for me (at different times). They each came back and said the inside was great. The water wheel and creek are around the back, and you can get married/take pictures under the big oak tree in front of it.

There are several sitting rooms off from the main room where guests can sit. My mother came back with a bunch of pictures of each room, bridal suite, and how the tables are set up. Judging from the pictures, it looked satisfactory to me.

I'm trying to plan my wedding from Florida, so I really rely on their suggestions for planning my wedding. They all told me it would make for a really nice wedding

I guess it all depends on our tastes and what we're looking for. I was just disappointed with it. And my fiance hated it as well he said to him "it looked like some old wearhouse that people threw some crap in to sell to suckers and had a really good realtor photo shop it!"

I don't know. But good luck with your search. We saw it set up for a wedding that day but the coordinator didn't seem thrilled with anything or even the venue.

Ahh. I'm already feeling totally scared about giving so much decision making control to my family. My first choice was the Museum of Science, but our wedding budget is under 10k so that wasn't possible for us.

One thing my family did come back and tell me about Jones River is that it's REALLY nautucal themed (which doesn't work with my wedding at all). I guess I will have to ask if I can take all the lighthouse knickknacks down.

Eck, I wonder what they'd say. I know majority of the ceiling is full of crew boats (which I liked in the pictures because I did crew in college) but in person it seemed bizzare with everything else...

I guess we'll have to see! xD  My wedding colors are dark periwinkle blue and coral with a little bit of  apple green mixed in so I'm planning on splashing color all over the place. I'll work with the venue to move the knick knacks.
