live water color painter

Hello Knotties,

I'm curious if there is anyone who has had a live painter at their wedding or event? I'm thinking I'd like someone to paint fun portraits during our reception.  We're both artist  so I figured this might be a unique alternative to having a photobooth.  I'd like to find someone hip and playful.  I've stumbled upon a few very traditional portrait artists who work on one big piece for the duration of the event. That's nice, but expensive and a bit dull.
We'd much rather have many guest enjoy the artist...

I have attached a cute illustration by an artist both me and my hubs to be like, Mark Johns.  This route is so much more our style than a stuffy old canvas painting.

Any feedback or suggestions here?

Thanks,
m

It kind of sounds like you want someone more like a caricature artist.  I can't really help with that, but maybe you want to search for that keyword.  I would think working with paint/watercolor might take too long to do multiple portraits and your guests probably don't want to sit for more than a few minutes, so going that route might be impractical (which is probably why you can't find anyone who does it).

At one of my company Christmas parties they had a live painter.  He was amazing!  He painted about 6 or 7 pictures throughout the night and then they were given away.  I can't remember his name but I can try and find out on Monday.
