  -How much did you tip your DJ? Did you base it off of a percentage for the cost of the service, or just what you felt was fair?  10% which was $150 
  
  -If you had wait staff, how much did you tip them?  Our wait staff came with our caterer and a tip wasn't required but I feel like they all deserve something (as well as the owner, who helped to coordinate everything) but 10-20% of the total seems a little crazy. My MIL tipped each maitre'D $50 each even though the tip was covered by our service charge.
  
  -Did you tip or get some other small gift for your DOC, officiant, etc.? I feel like they deserve something, and I was considering giftcards to a restaurant but personally, I usually forget about those and/or lose them so I'm wondering if just money, flowers, etc. would be more reasonable. My DOC sucked so no tip for her.  We hired paid officiants so we did not tip them either.  You can always donate to their church if they have one.
  
  -What about your photographer/videographer? Both of mine run their own businesses so I don't really feel like it's necessary but I could be wrong.  I did not tip my photographer but I did give her a glowing review and recommend her every chance I get.

  I was wondering about this too so I'm glad to see a post about it. Besides our caterer all of my vendors run their respective businesses so is a tip required?  My FH owns his company but is not tipped every time his company completes a job.

  -If you had wait staff, how much did you tip them? I thought my mom was going to take care of this but she forgot. Our wait staff came with our caterer and a tip wasn't required but I feel like they all deserve something (as well as the owner, who helped to coordinate everything) but 10-20% of the total seems a little crazy.  Ours came with the caterer as well, and we did tip them, and I can't for the life of me tell you how much.  My dad did all that, lord knows it's escaped me.

  Thanks, ladies! That's right along the lines of what I was thinking. My DOC actually came with our venue. She did an excellent job though, and took care of several things that I would have completely forgotten about. So, I'll definitely have to do something for her but I'm not sure what.
  
  Tiffany, you're right, since they own their own businesses and can choose their own pricing structure, it isn't required. However, if they go above and beyond and do an excellent job, I think it is warranted. In our case, for the DJ, she was an excellent price and did an excellent job. So, although she is one of the owners, I feel that she deserves a tip.
