Which dress?

I can't make up my mind. I want it to be simple, elegant, with some embellishment. I want to look "romantic" and jazz it up w/vintage accessories and a fun hair piece.

Getting married at Knowlton Mansion (victorian, rustic) w/ a garden theme (creams, fresh greens, and pewter). I've tried on all of these (salon wouldn't let me take pics.) They have similar fits on me - just need to decide if I want to feel classic, elegant/sexy, or playful. Any opinions?

Gown 1 -

Hard to see - Lace detail around chest & bottom - entire train is lace. Felt like a "bride" in this dress, but it's missing something for me. Would maybe add a vintage brooch or some beading around neckline? A-line fit.

Gown 2 -

FI likes this look best. Slight mermaid - more fitting to my body. Felt very confident in this one. Wouldn't change dress, just accessorize.

Gown 3 -

I felt sweet and playful in this one. Would maybe make neckline more of a "sweetheart"

can you dance/walk in the mermaid?  i felt very uncomfortable getting around for more then a few steps in a mermaid

I didn't want a mermaid originally for that reason - it's not really that form fitting past my hips, just moreso than the others I tried on. I could move around just fine.

oooh, i love #3 - the strap adds something different from a traditional strapless. but i say go with the one you feel like you never want to take off :)  good luck!

I love #3! It would work really well in a garden setting. Plus, it is one that will stand out and people will remember (not strapless and poofy). I'm bias though - my dress has has one shoulder.

Thanks! I really like #3 too :) But when I tried on the other two, my mom and his mom both got emotional and with #3, were like "oh how pretty and fun." Even though it shouldn't, their reactions totally swayed my opinion. I'm so indecisive. I'm going back and try them on again w/a friend. Maybe that will help me decide!

Love #2, and I really like #3. # 3 I think would be fun, playful and still very elegant.

I can see why you're indecisive. I would be too! GL!

I am going to be honest.

    I think 1 looks cheap.

I like 3 best, however I would have to see you in them as often the dress looks nothing like it does on the model.

NCV2, I appreciate your honesty. So true. #1 is muuuuch prettier on. I don't like it in the picture either but in person, the fabric doesn't have a sheen to it and the lace detail is so intricate/gorgeous.

I have an appt next week and will try to sneak a camera. I have no idea why they won't let you take pics. It would make things so much easier.

I love #2. But I may be biased because it has a lot of elements of my dress. With number #1 my concern would be if you need to have it altered. With detail on the bottom like that it could be tricky. To say for sure I would need to see you in it.

As to the bridal salon not letting you take pics I personally would not go back there. That to me is a bunch of crap. I needed to look at the pics of myself in the dress several times in between appoinments to help me decide. If any of the stores had told me that I could not take pics I would have just walked out. There are plenty of stores who will treat you well. No need for that.

I am really drawn to number 3, but if you will have to keep the accessories to a minimum because that one shoulder is the thing and you dont' want to distract from it.

I really like number 1 a lot ( I guess the cheese stands alone ;) but I think the lace helps with the "vintage" feel, and it's also not so jazzy that you couldn't rock some really fun accessories.  I like number 2, but I feel like the accessories have to do ALL the work, you know?  It's just kinda plain looking to me.

Amer - totally agree with you 100%. I'm so drawn to 3, but I feel like it doesn't have the vintage feel I'm looking for. I wish I could combine the top of #2 with the bottom of #1 - I just love the lace details, it's so timeless to me.

2 or 3- both are gorgeous and I see why you're having a hard time!  with 3 the one shoulder look and detail would def be part of your accessory, so you could do some vintage-y earrings and a bracelet for sure. with 2 you could do a necklace if you wanted.

tough call since we don't know you personally :) I say try both on again- 2 is a little more classic timeless, while 3 is more whimsical. depends on your personality and what you are comfortable with. 3 is fun though and if you can rock it go for it!!! :)
