No RSVP, No Seat.??

So, what have you ladies decided to do about guests that haven't RSVP'd.?? FI and I are trying to figure this out. At first, we thought to only get as much chairs as the number of people that RSVP'd, but then that might leave one table with only like 2 chairs when it's supposed to seat 10. I don't wanna be rude and tell everyone to get out. Lol. What are you ladies doing.?? I suppose if we were having a buffet it wouldn't matter, but we're having a seated dinner, so they only make a certain number of plates.

    I stressed weeks about that happening to me. Your venue will probably make at least 5 to 10 extra plates in the event it happens. Give them a call to confirm. Also we haD a few empty seats too, but you can still have 10 chairs even If you plan to sit 7 people. Once dinner is over people will move around and mingle at other tables so that gives them a place I sit. Keep in mind you may have a few people RSVP who still may not show so any crashes/non RSVP can seat in those seats.

    We are having a guest list with our coordinator at the door. She has been instructed if their name is not on the list do not let them in. Also, she is not to come to us letting us know who she turned away or to ask us if anyone who is not on list can stay. Im sure they will try to send her to us saying so and so is at the door but we dont want her doing that. They should have rsvp'ed. Because they will have a card on file, I dont need anything else being charged to it at the end of the night because people who didnt rsvp decided to come. I wont even have my phone because I dont need them calling me from the door.

    Im having this issue with the reception.  I was all set with the original wedding but people acting like they just didnt even get the invite to the make up reception and its NEXT SUNDAY !! (9/23) SMH

    As tough as I tried to be before hand about no RSVP no seat it happened and what I do...let them stay. That will honestly be the furthest thing from your mind that day. I don't know how the venue ended up accommodating our extras but it worked out.
