Alfred Angelo discontinued lace- where can I find?

Hi! I don't know if i'm posting in the right forum.  I bought a discontinued Alfred Angelo dress that came with a lace jacket (kind of 1980'ish looking). So i'm going to alter the jacket to a 3/4 length. What I'm wanting to do is make a headband and accesories my shoes with the jacket material. I called Alfred Angelo 1-800# and the bridal salon where I got my dress. They both said that it's discontinued and they're not "cutting" that anymore. Is there a place where old material goes to die? They'd have to have "extras" somewhere right?

Anybody have any suggestions?

  • Do you have a photo of the lace? Maybe there is something similar out there in a fabric shop.

  • I think that will be a tricky lace to match, especially since the image is so small.

I would maybe try and find something that compliments it. The headband and little accessories shouldn't use that much fabric.

http://www.gloryshouse.com/   has a bunch of lace trims that might looks nice

  • There are a lot of fabric companies that sell lace online, and if you have a fancier fabric store, you may be able to find it. I would look at lace trim instead of lace fabrics, because the fabric in that jacket is lace edged tulle or chiffon where the embroidery is a scalloped edge around it, but sheerer in the middle with less embellishment.

Trust me, no one will notice that the lace is not an exact match.
