i just went to a wedding at the richfield regency last weekend. the food was great! i think they have several rooms. we were downstairs for the cocktail hour and then went up a staircase for the reception. i liked how it had a club like feeling during cocktail hour, but i though the ceilings were low.  i can't speak on the bridgewater manor but there was so much food and the dinner portions were huge!

I was in between Richfield Regency (too dark for me) and the Atrium, we went with the Atrium and we are sooooooooo happy that we did! The food was amazing, the rooms were beautiful with lots of light and big windows.

Lighting is included in the price, not to mention outstanding service, everyone still talks about the food and how everything came out great! They do have outdoor ceremony space!

Go take a look at it if you can, speak to Bill, he is great!

Richfield only has 2 weddings at a time, BM can have up to 3.  As much as you love the outdoor space, if it rains, it doesn't matter.  Don't base it soley on that.

I had my wedding at the BWM about a month ago.  The food was fantastic, the service was great and my guests are still raving about it.  I found them very easy to work with, and responded to my phone calls and emails within a day.

I, myself, did have some issues with my matre'd, but none of my guests were inconvienced at all.

Well, we looked at both The Richfield Regency and the Bridgewater Manor (along with a ton of other venues) and ended up booking the Richfield Regency. For us, the two don't even compare. first off, the Richfield gives you a TON for the price. The food is amazing, I've heard MANY good things about them (and not one bad thing).
They have two ballrooms and 2 cocktail hour rooms. If you have enough people to use the larger ballroom, then you would use the downstairs cocktail hour room. It is not "dark" like someone else said, and the ceilings are not "low". they are normal height ceilings like any room. They are just not super high ceilings like in a ballroom, because it is a cocktail hour room and not a ballroom!
Anyway, If you book the larger ballroom, you have use of the chapel all night to use it for whatever you want. (if you want to actually have your ceremony there, they charge a fee). I thought that was a great feature, because I figured if it is raining, we can take photos of the bridal party in the chapel. and also use it to hang out in to get away from the ballroom or hang out with the bridal party, etc.
Since they only have the two rooms, they only have 2 events at one time.

As far as the Bridgewater Manor goes, they seem to have a good price until you look closely at their pacakges. It ends up being more expensive and its not nearly as good a package as the Richfield. We also weren't impressed with their rooms whatsoever. We thought they were kinda dumpy to be honest, and felt more like a conference center or something along those lines. Even the outisde of the building looks like an office building. I have been to a wedding at the Bridgewater Manor and wasn't impressed. The food was just ok, and the room wasn't impressive.

As far as the ceremony space, like a previous person said, I wouldn't pick a place for your reception based on whether or not you can have your ceremony outdoors. If it rains, you will be stuck inside anyway. I have no idea what kind of indoor space the Bridgewater Manor has for a ceremony if it is raining, but I can't imagine it would be even nearly as nice as the chapel at the Richfield Regency.
(we are getting married in a church, so this didn't factor in for us at all).. We had looked at some places that had amazing outdoor ceremony areas (before we decided we were definitely getting married in a church), but we realized we shouldn't base our decision on that, because the weather is unpredictable, and we didn't want to end up being stuffed into a weird room somewhere because of the weather at the last minute. You mentioned you are getting married in August.. personally, I think it is too hot to have your guests sit outside for a ceremony, but that's just my opinion.

Again though, i would highly recommend the Richfield.. we worked with Jude and he was amazing.. and he already threw in the centerpieces for free. (normally $250).

I booked at the Richfield too! I thought it was so pretty, I really liked the lobby and down stairs cocktail hour room! I loved the coziness of the ballroom and the pretty dance floor. I went to a bridal expo there and the food they had was very good. I have heard many good things about it! Can't wait to see how things shape up for the wedding!

Yes I completely agree! I loved the loungey feel of the downstairs cocktail hour room, and the ballroom is really pretty.
We went to a bridal show there (after we had booked) and the food was really good. Jude had said we could come for a tasting if we wanted to, but we never did.

The BWM has beautiful grounds and the ballrooms are elegant!  I am getting married June 2012 and people can't say enough to me about them!  The RR was Ok - I have been to 3 weddings there... the food at the BWM was def better...
