Fi and I had a slip up this week... and I don't think we will be following the "rules" any more. I think the worst part about it is I don't feel guilty about it

FI asked me to please stop looking at our registry ever since we got a gift in the mail last week... but I just can't. And I lied to him yesterday when he asked if I'd looked. oops.

P.S. someone bought us all the serving platters and bowls that go with our china!

My mom's youngest sister sent me a message of FB yesterday to tell me (5 weeks before the wedding) that she can't come to the wedding because they are going to Prague and Budapest a week after my wedding. (mine is DW in NOLA) She has known the wedding date since August and didn't make her trip plans until after and has been telling me that they would definitely be there (the last time at Christmas). The sad part is I saw something like this coming because she's very selfish all the time. I really only wanted her to come because I really like her husband more because he's tons of fun. I'm gonna miss him at the wedding.

I'm pretty bummed that I'm not having a shower or a bachalorette party. It really doesn't matter in the scheme of things - but I am slightly hurt that no one has put forth any effort at all to throw me one and that the only time in life I am actually allowed to have something for me - I don't get one. I'm also slightly upset that it is taking my BM like 2 weeks to reply to ANY text messages. It's just ridiculous. I'm really getting the feeling that she really could care less.

I got mad at FI last night after he got home from the gym with his brother. He decided to only take on class this semester so we'd have more time to see each other (we don't live together yet) and to have time to work on wedding things. Well he joined the gym (good for him!

) but now, any night he doesn't have school he is at the gym. Last night he didn't come over until after 9. And we were suppose to be working on labels and things for the wedding. I told him I'm seeing him less this semester then last when he was working full time and school full time. Now he is only working full time and one class. I guess I was just being selfish

But I just want to see him!
Only 55 days until I can see him every night!

So my shower is next Saturday. I am looking forward to it, to a point. I invited the BM family since FI is close to his family. Well, from what I was told then have bought me outrageous type of stuff in the attempt to embarrass me. Well I am all for jokes and having fun, I just don't see my shower as the place to this. I will have my 9 year old niece there and my 90 year grandmother, not to mention that most of me family is southern Baptist and could be offended by this.

My motivation at work has been absolutely unexcusable. I feel really bad about it but I swear I have ADD. I work in a different office than the rest of my team and I work with spreadsheets all day. I visit theknot WAY too much and I'm nervous that I'm falling far enough behind that it's going to become pretty obvious. I'm going to be flying to our office on the west coast next week, where 90% of my coworkers work, so I'm hoping meeting with people face-to-face for 3 straight days will help get me back on track and more motivated. Until then, I am pretty much just attending the various meetings I have today (one is at 4:30, really? c'mon!) and starting fresh when I hit the airport on Monday.

I'm printing my programs at school. I don't feel bad because I buy so much stuff for my classroom with my own money. I am using my own paper!

I feel dumb for giving FI access to our seating chart because he moved all my stuff around and it happens to be his favorite thing so far regarding wedding tasks. I know it's super silly, but I totally wanted to control where everyone sits MWAHAHAHAHA!

Ok..since it's confession

I'm a little bummed that I'm not having a bachelorette party...my BM's are all very busy ladies...and I know this....I guess for me, it's just one of those "rights of passage"...ok..confession made....I feel better...

I just got 9 RSVPs back - one yes that I wasn't expecting but am glad about (a cousin in CT that I haven't seen since 2003 and her family, I really didn't think they'd make it!) and a no that I am really bummed about. This is a friend of mine from college, lives in Ohio now, and I feel like I have really made an effort to visit her (at least 6 times in the 9 years since she's moved there) and have her involved in my life, but I just really don't think I get the same effort back from her. I only see her, and usually just for dinner, if she's in town on business. Maybe once a year, if that, and more like once every two years. I don't know why they declined (there wasn't a reason in the card and she hadn't contact me beforehand to let me know). Maybe it's because I didn't ask her to be in the wedding party (I was a BM in hers nearly 12 years ago). Maybe it's because her anniversary will be the week before. I know it's not because she'll be teaching, because her school is on break and doesn't start classes again until two days after my wedding.

I am sick of FI adding people to the guest list. His new job has more politics involved than mine does (he is afraid to not invite people who might send business his way) but it annoys me. I am ok with the ones we hang out with socially and the ones who work directly with him, but the 6-7 others (and their spouses!) that he just feels bad not inviting, is SO obnoxious. I don't think he understands that 20 extra people means a LOT of extra money for food, drinks, invites, etc. We are TWO weeks from mailing invites and he won't lock down a guest list. UGH!

I'm calling into work Monday. I didn't lesson plan for this. I'll just use my emergency sub plans. I didn't tell my team. I'm just SO busy this weekend and I wanted a day to relax. I'm justifying this decision based on the fact that I haven't called in once this school year. I did have one planned day off for a dental procedure, but that's it. So, I decided it was okay.

I am taking off 4 days for the bachelorette and wedding though.
