end of deployment near : )

I just wanted to share my excitement of deployment winding down...there's been a few dates thrown around so I don't know exactly when FI will be back but all of the dates put us into a double-digit countdown so I'm a little bit excited : ) just ready for it all to be over. We've still got quite some time left but over half way is good enough for me right now.

Have a lovely day, ladies!

That halfway point seems so far away when they first go, but then it seems to go so quick after that.  Yay!

Halfway is a BIG deal! Yay for you! I remember how long it felt to get to the halfway point.. and then it came and went and suddenly time was flying! I had so much to do before he got home I felt like I was running out of time!

When he was in Iraq in 2009 it was a super fast deployment, he was scheduled for 8 months but they got sent home after 4 months. I was spoiled with how well that worked out - I had hopes for it happening again but no such luck. It's okay, it's really been a pretty easy deployment, we've gotten to talk way more than either of us anticipated so obviously that's made it way easier. I'm just excited for him to be HOME!

In other deployment news...his BM is also deployed now with FI and is considering volunteering to stay. So we could be BM-less, there's a few people I can think of that FI may ask but BM was the only guy. I guess we'll just figure that out when he makes a decision though.

<div>Please don't replace your BM if he can't be there.  He was chosent to be BM for a reason, and by replacing him it's kind of a slap in the face.  If he can't make it, just list him in the program as the honorary BM, and you can write a note that he couldn't be there due to military obligations.  One of the GMs can sign the marriage license in his place, but don't replace him.  </div>

That's exciting! I can't wait until this deployment ends for H so we can get on with our PCS!

Like Beach said, don't replace your BM. One of our GMs couldn't make it due to military reasons, but he was still listed on our programs. He even called during our wedding.

<div>I hadn't thought of that, thanks for the idea! I will definitely tell FI about what you've suggested next time I talk to him - I'm sure he'll really the idea. Thanks again. </div>

Agree with PP.. besides you don't HAVE to have a BM/MOH. We don't, just because we couldn't pick one! Wow that IS lucky that he got to come back so early on his last deployment. I wish that happened every time :o)

Congratulations and that's certainly very exciting!

If I may, you should probably change that post.  That's a little bit too specific - "in double digits" as Heather said leaves up to 89 days of potential return dates.  Just under X days gives a bit of a rather specific idea of return date.

Please read up on OPSEC and remove this post, thanks!

Aw how exciting! Congrats! My FI deploys fairly soon! ;( But he's in the USMC so it should only last 6-7 months. Then again, nothing is ever set in stone with the marine core!

    Congrats again! ;)

<div>Marine Corps. You should know how to properly spell that since it's your FI's job. </div>
