Otherwise, everything else I figured out within a month of getting engaged and there haven't been too may surprises since.

Having a garden wedding at a country club vs our original plan of a barn wedding in the country!
It was a shock becuase the venue we wanted was SO gorgeous inthe photos but a complete $#*+ hole in person.

Other than going over my budget not much but we have quite a few months so lets ask this again in say 11 months my responses might change lol!

So far? Not much. Ask me again in 6 months, and I'm pretty sure I'll have a few things by that point.

1. Having had to postpone.
2. Having my two bridesmaids (and very good friends) meet for thr first time - and HATE each other!! In fact, one is threatening to drop out if I don't fire the other!!
3. Having my FI be much more into details than I thought he'd be

Might be forced to find someone new to officiate. That's primarily sad b/c we were using FIs cousin who we both really love. But he's going thru chemo for stage 4 non-hodkins lymphoma right now.

Having FI cousins FI crab me out for having our wedding so close to theirs (they are in august) even though we got engaged first, but were waiting on the best time to pick a date (which we picked after they picked theirs). Thankfully I think that situation has settled. Also, my car completely breaking down, forcing me to go car hunting and get a car payment since all of our savings is wedding money. Happy note though! FI got a new job that guarantees 40 hours which means more money!

Having a small wedding in Vegas, no wedding party. Having my hm paid for by future in-laws.

Not having any financial help from our parents (my mom is paying for my dress though :-)). FI was totally expecting his parents to gift us something, but so far nothing. I'm totally fine with it now that I have our budget worked out and figured out how much we need to save each month. Planning exactly what we want will be totally doable and I'm glad we're paying for it ourselves. That means we can do whatever we want! We decided if our parents give us anything it will go toward our next house down payment since we won't make anything on our current house...hoping to break even.
