Late RSVP problem...with a kid

So I just got a facebook message from a friend of mine who hadn't looked in her mail until today. She said she knew she couldn't come to the reception now as it is too late to get a head count, but she wants to come to the ceremony with her husband and 2 year old daughter.

We had 6 spots left that we left open for people changing their minds, but we are not allowing children to come. I was thinking through options and asked my mom if I said that was ok that she could come to the ceremony to see me get married like she asked (although I'd feel bad even saying yes to that). My mother said no that she was not allowed to bring her child to the ceremony even because of the videographer. So if she can't find a sitter she can't come.

What would you guys do?

    I guess I would just tell her that you're having a no-kids-allowed party.

    I would just explain that, unfortunately, you can't have children even if you wanted to make an exception.  Tell her you're sorry and you really hope you'll see her there.

    Yea, if you aren't able to allow kids that's all you can tell her. Hopefully she understands but I wouldn't make any compromises in this situation.

    We had a similar situation where a friend of mine called the week of the wedding to ask if he could bring his infant and I had to have a difficult conversation advising that we were not able to accomodate children under 5 due to noise during the ceremony. At the time, our great niece was 8 months old, and we had to have someone babysit her in another room at the Church. In the end they did not attend, but I had to stick to my guns because it was made very clear by my parents that we needed to avoid the potential of any unnecessary noise.
    Truth be told, my MIL made more noise hacking up her black lung than any disruptive noise a child could have made.
