Rehearsal Dinner-Burbs & Pay for drinks?

Hi!  I'm trying to pick/plan our rehearsal dinner but so far it's seeming kinda pricey.  Does anyone have any good suggestions for places in the northwest suburbs?  Our church is in Mt Prospect and hotel in Schaumburg but I am open to anywhere in the nw burbs.

Another rehearsal dinner question:  I was planning on paying for alcohol drinks for about 2 hours.  I have no idea what the norm is though.  Am I suppossed to pay for the whole night, or not at all, etc??

Thanks ladies!   6 month mark on Thursday :)

If you are looking for something economical, try a pizza party.  Often times you can do drinks included for the whole night and just barely make the min. food and beverage amount.  Or, you could do consumption only bar.  Assuming people aren't big drinkers this is another great way to save money.  But regardless, I personally feel like it is much nicer if you provide cocktails for your guests.

We had our rehearsal at Dave and Busters in Addison, which isn't too far from where you're at. We did the bar by consumption, but there were other packages.

I've been to one at Maggiano's in Streets of Woodfield that was wonderful, but I have a feeling it was pretty pricey.

We're having a very casual RD at a bowling alley. We'll be providing the shoes, bowling, wine/beer/soda, pizza, salad, and dessert. if they want a cocktail, then they'll have to pay for it, which I think is reasonable and will also discourage heavy drinking. It's still not cheap, but much less than every other alternative I've seen.

Have you looked into RAM right by Woodfield? The food is good and they have delicious microbrews. It has been awhile since I looked at their event menu though so I am unfamiliar with the current pricing. :)

Our rehearsal dinner is at BoneFish Grill in Schaumburg.  I don't know cost because my parents are taking care of the rehearsal dinner, but we really love it.

This is a little bit past Mt. Prospect/Shamburg but Cucina Bella in Algonquin would be an awesome place. It has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious.

But I also think a pizza place could be really fun too.

My church is in Mt. Prospect and my reception/hotel is in Schaumburg too! Where are you getting married? I think we are going to have our rehearsal dinner at Moretti's. It's the old Famous Freddies. It's going to be really casual. There is Moretti's in Mt. Prospect and in Schaumburg. We also are looking into Bogies, the old Loft. Hope that helps.

Hi Froggy!  We are getting married at St Raymonds.  Thanks for the suggestions, I didn't even think of those good places!

I love the upstairs at Bogie's! They did a great job rennovating it. I am a little partial cause my best friend waitresses there :) But I know she works a lot of rehearsal dinners, funeral luncheons, etc., and she says that people always really enjoy themselves.

We are doing La Tasca (Spanish tapas) in Arlington Heights (they have a few locations, but that one has a back room) -- it's anywhere from $30-$50 pp with drinks.

My sister did Giordano's for hers, and was much less expensive (and pretty good actually, lots of good pizza plus appetizers like calamari).

Another location we looked into is Hackney's -- they have packages starting at $15 or $20 for their burgers.

    We're getting married at Raymond's too! :)

I like the casual idea for rehearsal dinners. The upstairs is nice at Bogies. Didn't think of Giordanos, but that sounds good too!
