Peeking at the Registry

Does anyone else find it irresistable NOT to look at their registries? I have a bridal shower coming up next weekend and I can't help but look at our registries almost every day! Obviously I don't know who has bought what, but it's fun to see what has been bought so far. Am I spoiling the fun in the surprise?

I am a complete registry stalker, and my shower isn't even for another month. I even peeked at the thank you card manager so I do know who has bought the stuff. Whether you're spoiling the fun is really up to you. I think I will still be just as excited to actually receive the items.

I stopped stalking the registry from when shower invites went out until the shower was over, just because that was my preference. A lot of people say it doesn't ruin the surprise because you still don't know who it's from. I did registry stalk before the wedding since I woudln't be opening those gifts in person and was less likely to guess who they were from, since it was 100 guests versus 25 for the shower.

I keep peeking but the shower invites haven't gone out. I am going to try and use some self-restrain when they do so I am pleasantly surprised! It's going to be crazy hard!

I am definitely a registry stalker! My mom scolds me all the time, and so did FI but now I catch him peeking at the registries or he'll email me at work and say, "Baby someone bought my grill set!" haha...

I know it kind of ruins the surprise, but the biggest surprise is finding out who purchased the gifts for you. I knew a lot of the gifts that had been purchased for my shower, but I didn't know who had purchased them, it was nice to finally read the cards and see who had picked out what for our new home.

lol well my wedding is not until next year but I keep editing my registry. No one has purchased anything off it yet because we really haven't announced it but yea...I live on my myregistry.com gift list and keep editing/removing/adding. It's a bit pathetic but I can't help it! You're only a bride to be for so long

I stalk my registry constantly - probably two or three times a day! My shower invitations just went out and the shower is July 25th. I am done teaching Friday, so I can only imagine what I'll be doing once I'm not working. I'll be checking every three hours!!

I totally stalk, but since my wedding isn't until next year (and no one knows about my registry yet) I actually stalk my friends registries who are getting married this year. I keep wondering how much actually gets bought off the registry and how much I should register for to accomodate it!

I had every intention to stop looking at our registries once our shower invitations went out......yeah that didn't happen. It's such a temptation! Our shower is in 2 1/2 weeks and it's so exciting to see what has already been purchased. I ended up getting a few of the items for my birthday last month and, even though I saw they had been "fulfilled" on the registry, it was so exciting to open gifts and see the items sitting in front of me. Seeing an item "fulfilled" on a registry is exciting, but having it in front of you knowing that you get to take it home is even better.

I can definitely say that, even though I've been cheating and looking at our registries, I know I'll be just as excited to receive the gifts.

I received my first gift in the mail yesterday! Even though I already knew it had been purchased and by whom, I was still really excited to get it. So I'm not worried about that part.

I had a work shower in April and I constiently stalk. I havent in a while, but I am having a shower with all our family and friends in August. SO... I'm sure sometime in July I will stalk again..

I still add an item from time to time and I have to make sure things aren't being discontinued (an issue with Macy's).. so this is my cover. I stalk like crazy and get really excited when someone bought something on sale! Some of the sales are over 50% off.. so I get really excited about getting the gift I wanted.. and the giver is saving a ton of $.

I should really stop now that I am not adding things too much anymore.. but I still stalk a bit!

Honestly, everything that I'm thinking shows on my face so I prefer to know who bought me what before the showers! That wasif someone buys me something weird or off the registry I won't be surprised and make a weird face, which is very, very possible!

My first shower is Saturday and I have been checking a couple times a day! I can't restrain myself. My mom has already told me to stop looking but I love it. I am Christmas peaker though and my FI keeps telling me this is just like peaking!

My bridal shower isn't for another 7 weeks, but we registered early. Since the invitations went out I check every once in a while to see if anything was purchased. The whole wedding thing hasn't really sunk in yet and I guess I feel that if I check back and see that people have started buying things it will be more real that this is all really happening. Plus if I check and see there are lots of things gone already, I will know to go add more things to help with people who can't afford a lot. I don't think it will ruin the suprise at all and I am still going to be really excited.

I got SOOOOOOOOOO busted. My bridal shower was Saturday and my girlfriend (who was throwing the bridal shower for me) stopped by my house for dinner. I was laughing about how I can't help but look at the registry and how someone bought this really nice knife (I'm a cook) and I didn't know who it was, but was really excited. She laughed at me and said that's horrible and how I shouldn't be looking.. blah blah blah. I told her not to laugh when I open it, but she couldn't help but laugh, since she was the one that purchased it for me.

Our wedding is only 26 days away and I am constantly on the registries checking them out. I keep adding and deleting things, and of course, checking to see what has been purchased. LOL! It didn't ruin the fun for me for my shower and I can't imagine the suprise being ruined when we open our wedding gifts, either. My fiance teases me all the time about peeking. He says that's cheating! It makes me get really excited for our big day to see the reality of people purchasing wedding gifts for us! I'm just so glad I'm not the only one with this addiction!

Very difficult not to do!!! My registries from Macy's and Crate and Barrel are now getting low, but like everyone else it is very "HARD" not to look. After a year and a half for 260 invitee's I am excited. Even though you see what has been bought, doesen't mean all gifts come from your registry!!!:)

My bridal shower was in May, however now some gifts are arriving at our home very often for our wedding. We live in California, yet are getting married in the state we are from, so due to Karma we are not opening them until arriving back from our wedding and honeymoon!

So Excited to get married SOON! One month and four days away!

My mom asked my boyfriend to set up my folders so that any gift-related emails would automatically filter into the folder and I wouldn't know about the gift. Needless to say, that was an epic fail. But I thought it was sweet that they'd tried.

I AM a registry stalker. I go on there once every couple of days to check and make sure nothing's been discontinued or anything, so I noticed when people started buying shower gifts. It's so exciting to know I am getting that waffle maker that I've been wanting FOREVER. But it'll be even cooler when I found out who bought it and why.

Don't you have to look, to update so people don't buy the same things over and over? Even when it says "fulfilled", it still shows on the list on some registries right?

I'm registered at BBB, and I use their guest list toolkit stuff for RSVPs coming in. You have to sign into the registry to use it, and it shows the numbers at the top of the screen of how many items have been purchased. I try not to stalk, but every time I log in and the number is different, I get really excited and try to find which thing on the list is newly purchased.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! My fiance hates that I do it, but really.... we picked it out, so it's not going to be a total surprise anyway!!!! I have no idea who bought it, so it will still be fun to open it!

My showers are a little over a month away, so the invites are just going out and the registries are changing...it's exciting!!

i stalk mine too and was able to purchase $150 worth of sheets and pillow cases off of it for less than $50. they were clearanced last week and almost out of stock tonight so i jumped on them lol
