xp: engagement photo advice

so, we are currently part of a contest to win an engagement photo shoot from a photographer in Maine. Its looking like we are going to win. We currently have twice as many "likes" as the next closest picture.

So, how do engagement shoots work? Her site says "multiple locations." Does she pick the locations or do we? What is the standard expectation?

Also, since (if we win) the shoot would be free- Should we tip her? If so, how much?

We were not planning on doing engagement photos due to budget, but we stumbled across this contest and I know nothing about what to expect.
Its not just some random photographer. She take beautiful pictures and a couple friends have used her before

If you win I am sure everything will be explained to you and the process can vary photographer to photographer.  For us, we picked the location (uptown Charlotte) and we know of at least one specific place we want, but we are letting our photographer pick the rest since.  Our shoot came with our package, so I don't know that we will tip her right after the shoot.  We will purchase the rights to our e-photos for $100.  We aren't tipping for this beacuse she owns her business.  If we are very happy with her from e-photos to wedding, we may tip her in the end despite her owning her own business.  Considering the shoot will be free for you, does that include photos?  You may have to pay for the photo rights or for each photo you want, be sure to ask.  If this contest doesn't work out and you still want e-photos consider checking out craigslist for someone just starting out.  Good luck!
