Blossoms Florist was by far one of my very favorite vendors. The owner, Carol, was an absolute joy to work with. My husband and I looked forward to everytime we would go to her shop for a meeting. Her prices were ridiculously reasonable and she never tried to push us to spend money where she knew it wouldn't make an impact. On the day of our wedding the flowers were absolutely gorgeous. I loved everything that she did and appreciate so much that she took so much care to make my wedding so beautiful.

Lillian's in Dayton is amazing. They give you personal attention at your appointment, listen to your needs, and have a large selection of reduced price sample dresses. They were more than willing to work with my relatively low dress budget. And their seamstress is awesome!

I am having my wedding at the Cincinnati Museum Center and Andrea Howard has been really helpful ...recommending vendors and helping us figure out how the ceremony and reception will go. You even get to go into the museums to take pictures with your bridal party which gives you some great pictures. They coordinate all your vendors so you don't have too.  We went to a tasting they had for all the soon to be brides and it was delicous! They have several options for ceremonies and reception and its a beautiful, unique venue.

    Venue:
Donna Murphy from The Westin has been absolutely awesome.  I don't have a wedding planner, so having her there to help plan the reception is amazing.  The Westin is taking care of everything, it's a one-stop-shop.  I know I will be able to sit back, relax and enjoy the day with her running the night!  Plus, the Fountain Room is a great ballroom-alternative.  It's still in a hotel, but with all an all-window wall overlooking Fountain Square... it's definately city-chic.

    Music:
Jack Garrett and his swing band are also amazing... Jack has been wonderful to work with, planning the details of the night.  I know he comes highly recommended, and I only have great things to say as well through the planning process.

    Calligraphy:
    David Ogden
Calligraphy is a hobby for David, but it's the best I've ever seen.  Ever.  Amazing and talented work coming out of West Chester Ohio.  We love receiving compliments on our invitations about David's work!

My wedding will be on Nov. 12, 2011 but I've enjoyed planning the various parts of my wedding.  The key has been establishing a budget, determing the top 3 priorities (splurge items) and negotiating with vendors.  Vendors anticipate that brides will be caught up in the moment and willing to spend more money for services/products.  Therefore, I've asked if there's room to negotiate in each vendor or researched heavily online to narrow down my btop choices.
    The vendors I've chosen are:
Jennie Hodges Florist - works with any budget; is creative with her recommendations; is lending the vases for the centerpieces and has agreed to pick them up from the reception

Receptions in Loveland - they have various menu packages that fit different budgets;  it's all included - linens, silverare, set up, clean up, etc.

Daniel Michael Photography - professional, organized crew with creative perspectives on picture-taking; they also don't use digital cameras for black/white pictures which makes them look crisper and more dramatic

A Spoon Fulla Sugar - I tried cakes at various bridal shows and then did cake tastings at two bakeries.  A Spoon Fulla Sugar was just pure tastiness!  It's moist and they have plenty of tasty flavors.  Their prices are also reasonable.

Bridal Divas Ink - I heard about them when I received an email with a discount offer from them.  I checked their website and made an appointment.  I was sold!  Great service!  Each invitation is customized and they walk you through the creation process so it's not overwhelming.  They're also willing to work with your budget.

Bridal and Formal Inc - vast variety of dresses in different sizes.  It's best to go on a weekday to get the best service.  State your budget and stick to it - there are plenty of dresses and you're bound to find the one you love at the right price.

Party Pleasers DJ - very organized, professional team; I was impressed with their presentation and examples of all their services.  Let's see how they do at the wedding.

My biggest planning secret is to have FUN!  It's a one-time experience  and should be enjoyed.  Block out the drama and focus on what you and your fiance want.

    Happy planning!
    Joanna

I enjoyed all of my vendors from my 8.5.11 wedding... but some of my favorites were:

I chose Cincinnati Music Hall bc it was so different from anything I have ever seen.  It is BEAUTIFUL and everything I could ask for. It is such a historical site with so much history and beauty... I couldn't go wrong. The ballroom is huge and with the lighting we used made it absolutely amazing.. The wow factor of the room was off the charts when you walked in. Our guests said it was the prettiest wedding they had ever been to.

McHales Catering was awesome to work with and one of my favorite vendors..They were fairly inexpensive and they put out a 5 star meal. I worked with Megan the whole time and she was wonderful!  Music Hall does not have a working kitchen so you have to bring everything there already made. Our food tasted like it came right out of the oven.

Our photographer was Tine Hofmann with TM Photography..Simply put she is amazing at what she does.  The final product is worth the price for sure. Our pictures were stunning.

Susan Foy, our florist, went above and beyond. She was so great to work with and saw my vision perfectly. I told her i wanted bright vibrant bold colors.  she picked the perfect flowers... Her pricing was better than anyone else's and  they looked like a million bucks!

i tried to keep an open mind to everything and i wanted it to look like a typical wedding but i wanted everything bigger and better. thats what i got :)

I was married in Dayton on 5-21-2011 and had alot of fabulous vendors, but there were 2 that really stood out to me -

Sherwood Florist - I visited several flower shops in the area to talk about my ideas and get quotes. I chose Sherwood b/c Jessi seemed to really understand what I was looking for and her pricing was the best. On my wedding day, I almost cried when my flowers arrived. They were so amazing and way beyond what I could have even thought of. The colors were bright and matched all of my decor perfectly. The centerpieces were gorgeous and we got a ton of compliments. Jessi was super easy to work with and was able to make my vision come to life!

The Cake Movers - I chose to work with Courtney b/c she was a local, in home cake baker with great ability and low prices. I chose a cake style from her picture album but added my own touches to it. When I saw my cake the day of the wedding I just couldnt believe it - it was so amazingly beautiful and looked like I had spent a fortune on it! The taste and texture were delicious as well. She was so easy to communicate with and deserves alot of credit!

Our photographer, Nathan Peel, is amazing!  When I first met him, we ended up talking for 90 minutes like old friends.  He has gone above and beyond to make sure my FI and I are thrilled with our pictures.  He has a very quick turnaround for photos and responds to everyone of my emails almost immediately.  He is full of suggestions and ideas and has totally grasped our theme.  He even brought his personal iPad to our engagement shoot since my FI is a big Apple fan!  He definitely deserves a shout-out.

I'm in the very beginning stages of a 12.12.12 ceremony and 12.14.12 reception.... Its enough to pull off one wedding now I have plan 2 on a budget!!!

We have a unique wedding planned with no attendants, we want the day to be about us, we want to enjoy every moment and not feel like we missed our wedding. So were breaking the day into two. We are marrying on our anniversary which happens to be 12.12, with our immediate family followed by dinner and hosting a reception on Friday 12.14 for everyone to enjoy. We have 16 months to plan and save:

So far my contacts at Recpetions Eastgate has been extremly helpful.

Dan Michael is who were planning for photography, he works with any budget.

Im a pastry chef so my work is providing cakes for both events and favors (monogram cookies- yum!)

Jodi and Rick at Everlasting Sounds is a blast to work with.

I have yet to start the dress search but very excited to look.
