Passport to go to Bermuda?

Hi,
has anyone been to Bermuda? I am going on a cruise and was wondering if you need a passport.

    Yes you will need a passport.

    Edit:  There is a list of other travel documents you could apply for but it's pretty confusing.  If you're going through all the trouble to get a travel document you might as well get a passport.  They're good for 10 years.

    Yes you need a passport whenever traveling outside of the US, Puerto Rico, or USVI. I agree with pp... there's a list of travel documents you could use but it's a pain and too confusing. It's much more simple to just get a passport and then you have one for all of your future travels. HTH! :0)

    Yes.. now if you are going VIA land (not possible) or sea than you need a passport card or passport.  If you are going by Air you need a passport..






    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    I would recheck that.. I believe as of June 2009 you need a passport or a passport card to get to Bermunda

    BTW - I travel between the USVI and the BVI (only 7 miles apart) and we are required to have passport or passport card if going by sea..  The law changed back in June of 2009. So I  would not bank on the fact you do not need one..

    I would get a passport.  That way you can prove who you are if anything happens.

    Closed loop cruises are not subject to the same documentary requirements.  You can still use a birth certificate but it is recommended to have a passport in case of emergency.

    It is definitely still safer to get a passport but it is doable without.

    Don't quote me on this but it is my understanding that it applies only to cruise ships and not other passenger vessels.  I could be wrong though.

    That said - OP, you really should have a passport anyway.  If you had an emergency and needed to fly home, you would have a lot of trouble without one.
