RSVP craziness

I got an RSVP back from FIs cousin on Saturday. The invite was for the cousin, cousin's spouse, and cousin's two kids. (We are only inviting kids of OOT guests.) Well, on the RSVP, it lists 5 names. Cousin, Spouse, Kid 1, Kid 2, and Unknown name. I started freaking out that they had a third kid that I didn't know about. I called FMIL and she had no idea so she called the cousin. Unknown name is the BABYSITTER. Seriously?! Cousin wants to bring the babysitter so that if the kids can't make it all night they can go back to the hotel and the parents can stay. We have the space so I think we are going to allow it rather than cause drama, but I seriously cannot believe it.

Any other crazy RSVP stories out there?

    That is crazy. If they don't want to watch the kids at the wedding they should just leave them at the hotel with the babysitter and not bring them to the reception at all! But I think you made the right call in just letting it go since you have the space. Just weird!

    OMG that is awful! I know this is too late for you, but another knottie suggested writing the husband and wifes name, and children if they have it so they can't add more people. I am sorry to hear about your awful and rude experience.

    Wow, that is crazy.  We wrote, "x seats are reserved in your honor" on each invitation to try to cut down on weird stuff like that, but then a couple of people thought that meant that they didn't have to RSVP because we already reserved seats for them...?!
