Hi Ladies,

I'm a Virginia girl getting hitched in Camden and I have no idea where to go to get hair and make up done. Anyone got any tips?

    I'm sort of in the same boat! I found Coppola Salon in Rockport, they are sending me some info.  I put a post up on here but no one seemed to have any info on them.  They got some good reviews on Wedding Wire though.  I've heard good stuff from This Day Forward as well, but I wanted hair and makeup to be done at the same place/time, and I will probably be the only getting makeup done anyways.

    PS - I'm getting married the week after you Smile  I'm getting married in Lincolnville though, but most of our guests are going to be staying in Camden.

    I love the Ducktrap!  We decided to go with somewhere more accessible for out-of-towners, but Ducktrap is beautiful.  Hope you're having fun with the planning!

    Thats awesome! We looked into Ducktrap too, its beautiful. We've booked the Camden Harbor Inn for the weekend for all our guests. We're having our ceremony at Camden Amphitheatre, and the reception back at the Inn. As long as the weather is good we're planning to go on a schooner for a sunset cruise in between too :)

    Thanks, the second we saw it we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else! Where did you end up choosing? Sorry, I'm just being nosy... I love hearing about other people getting married in Maine.  No one of my friends or family have ever even been up there!

    I highly recommend Kim Doll at Veloute in Rockland for hair and From This Day Forward for your makeup.  They will both come to you and do excellent work. Good luck, that is such a beautiful area for a wedding!!

    Hannah - that sounds beautiful! We looked at the Camden Harbor Inn, but with the size of our guest list, it was just out of our budget.  It looks stunning though.
    You might already know this but when we were looking at the amphitheater for our ceremony (we are now doing it all at Ducktrap), we were told that you can get a permit from the town to block off the street so that there are no cars going by during the ceremony.  Also, appearantly many wedding coordinators put cones down in front so that no cars can park, and then remove them right before the ceremony for the same purpose.

    Are you using a coordinator? We are looking into getting a DOC, but the one I have found so far is kind of pricey.  Don't know if her prices are standard though.

    Sorry for all the questions, I'm so excited to know that someone  else is getting married in that area! So many people seem to get married no further North than Portland, it's nice to be able to chat with someone getting married in the same area as us!
