Puerto Vallerta / Yelapa in July

We were reccomended to go to these two delightful places by my fiance's boss who has a vacation home in Vallarta. He said that July is a storm a day but that it's cooling and not so bad. Yet, on Yelapa it seems almost every casa and hotel is closed in July. Then, I am thinking how we will get there is it's stormy, because Yelapa is only accessible by boat.

Does anyone know more about this area in July or has reccomendations knowledge about Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding area?

    we are from California, and my guy's family is from Mexico. The best times to go is before May really if you want that nice hot weather, but you can cut it close in June or July. We are going to Puerto Vallerta too in June and have been told we might experience a shower or two but over all it should still be nice. : try looking at a weather website closer to the date to see what the weather is going to look like for your dates or check what they were like last year to get an idea.
