My posts are still being deleted :(

Hi guys- I've posted about my new job at BOA that I'm totally stoked about....I finally have healthcare, benefits, and an amazing, predictable salary (yay!)....I'm not accepting new photography clients soooo I guess I'm wondering why my posts are deleted when I mention the word photography?   Am I really considered a threatening vendor when I have a job in an unrelated field and I'm not accepting any new photography business?  Im still not allowed to give a photographer's perspective on the topic?  Any input would be appreciated....wish I had more time to Knot, but this new job is draining...I have to be up before 8 am for once in my life Wink

I think that for casual posters that don't know your whole story, your language sends up flags.  "My brides" "My clients" "I don't blog all of my clients" "I've photographed brides there..." (these are made up examples, I haven't taken the time to search for direct quotes)

Even "I use to be a wedding photographer..." would make me think "uh huh, "use to be" riiiiiiiiiight" if it were out of context of all your posts.  And really, there have got to be many many people who occasionally read the board and don't post.  Posts are automatically deleted if enough people report them.

Mary-I can see what you're saying. Some may report who dont really have the whole scoop...didnt think of that. I just know it has been exhausting working all day, coming home and working night, and then shooting on the weekends. Not a schedule I want to maintain, for sure.  :)

I think I may have deleted one or two of your posts way back when, but I don't care what you post about a former job as a wedding vendor. My job is to make sure active vendors aren't allowed to promote themselves because it's unfair to the honest ones that pay to advertise.

If your posts are being delete lately, it's because enough people are clicking the report button (I believe it's somewhere near a dozen different individuals) to automatically delete the post.

Yea Ive been on the boards long enough to know that I have never seen you promote yourself as a vendor.  And I have seen things like Mary said --but maybe ppl just don't know.  hopefully it stops what are you doing at BOA?

Thanks for clearing it up Laudanum! I started cutting back on accepting weddings over a year ago with the intentions of transitioning into a different field.  My time as a full-time photog has been utterly exhausting. I'm so happy to finally move on!.

Sometimes I just can't refrain from offering a photog's perspective.  I've been doing it for 10 years  and find that most people don't understand the field unless they're in it.  :)

Ecuchika- I'm in the IT field now as a data production coordinator.  I'm really excited about the new challenges the position presents. It's hard to explain the role but basically our team analyzes data to determine customer profitability.

I taught myself SQL last summer.  I'm really excited about finally being able to use it! It's a database language that allows you to manipulate data. I'm supposed to research failures and release flags that allow the cycle to keep running at certain intervals.  The ony thing that bites is being up at 6am to monitor it on some days!

See, I told you it was hard to explain!! But I'm really looking forward to the change!  There is a lot of room to grow and advance in the position. Laughing
