Even Number of Men and Women in the Wedding Party?

So we are getting married in June and just found out that one of the party may not be able to make it. In light of getting the wedding party put together we have another person we would like to ask to be in the party. However, if we ask that person then I will have my maid of honor and my brother on my side. My fiancee will have his brother and his friend on his side. Thats three men and one woman. I am wondering if it needs to be even or if I should just throw out my inclination to be astheticly pleasing and go with it.

Thanks!!

  • Go with it! No need to be even; honoring those closest to you trumps that.

  • You don't need even numbers. And you certainly dont need to replace anyone. Go with your instincts. Even numbers doesn't equal aesthetically pleasing. It just equals even numbers lol.

  • There is no reason why sides need to be even. All of the attendants can walk in alone, alternating BM/GM/BM....or you can have one GM escort 2 BMs or vice versa.

Skip the wedding party dance, which is awkward anyway. If you insist on a WP dance, have them dance with their SOs/dates, not other members of the WP they may not know well.

They definitely don't need to be even. Don't make decisions based on that; make them based on who you want to stand up with you. No worries -- ours are uneven too!
