JP in Worcester Area??

I am getting married in October and one of the last things on my "to-do" list is the JP. I have searched online, asked my venue, and asked friends but cannot seem to find a JP or officiant to marry us. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would prefer a male officiant...

Thank you!

  • I have looked on there before but was hoping someone could recommend a JP that they have either had themselves or have seen perform a ceremony. Thank you though!!

Our JP, Jane Rokes, is licensed to do weddings in MA.  You could check her out.  Her web page hasn't been updated, probably because she's sooo busy doing weddings!  She wrote an amazing ceremony for us and let us change any wording we chose.

Ooops, never mind.  Just remembered you prefer a male officiant.

I know you prefer a male, I did too at first but all the males I contact where OVER $300!! Our JP is Claire Miller and she is in Grafton, but does weddings all over Mass. She is AMAZING and very quick to get back to you when you call or email :) And only charges $150. Consider it!!

  • Futuremrsbillyo - I'm curious as to why you were getting quoted at $300 for the males when MA has a set price of $100 with an additional $50 for travel fees (if necessary)... so strange and glad that you didn't go with any of them!

I will look into Jane and Claire. Thanks for the suggestions!!

  • I am going with Lorraine Murawski out of Sturbridge, MA. I originally thought I wanted a male as well, but figured I would meet with her since I'm getting married in Sturbridge and she is the town clerk (convenience!). She is a peach and I'm very excited to work with her!
You are correct that fees are set by the state at $100 and $150, but I think they are allowed to charge more for hotel, consultation, and rehearsal, but I'm not sure.
