OMG you guys are having BIG weddings! LOL

I didn't realize how big everyone's weddings are until I saw the post about open seating. With 100, 150 guests +, that's one big event! LOL

My first marriage, we had appx 55 and I thought that was pretty big (for me, anyway). This time around, we're doing our best to keep it around 45 guests.

    My venue holds max 120 people our guest list is at 96 not including the 5 kids. My budget accounts for 85 people max Fi and I are chopping at least 10 people out this week. I feel horrible but I already took out of that number the people who are being invited and I know can't make it.

    Our guest list is at 275 :( we have huuuge families and I'm sure there will be a lot of no shows, but for budget purposes we have to assume 100% attendance.

    We have a guest llist of 250 people I believe. The reason for that is because I am the first one in my family to get married, FI and I have a lot of friends and work people we are inviting, plus on FI side we are one of the last cousins to get married. We both have large families and could not cut close family we see at every holiday.

    Thank you for thinking that that is a big wedding!  FI's family has ridiculously sized weddings- I just went to his cousin's wedding that was 430 people and nobody thought it was big.  We're inviting 160, which I think is massive, and his family thinks we're having a super small wedding!

    I really wanted to to have 100 max, but FI's family is so large. His mom is 1 of 7 and his dad is 1 of 11 - so that ends up with him having a lot of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

    We were up to 220 and climbing, but we had to cut out a lot of people. I cut out a lot of my family to make room for his - I cut those that I haven't seen in years and don't really know anymore. It's much more difficult to do that in his family & the ones we had to cut from his family was so just difficult (for him to decide on who).

    FI told me that his uncle had over 700 for his! Basically invited every family member and just every person he knew.

    That's crazy that no one thought 430 was big! I don't even know that many people!

    </div><div>I know, right?!  FSIL is having a 250 person wedding and they keep calling it a "small wedding"... 250 is not "small" in my world!  I suppose size is relative!  So since my in laws are used to inviting every single person they know and that person's entire family, you can only imagine how challenging it was putting a guest list together for our wedding with them...</div>

    My guest list is 184, I wanted less than 150, but we both have big families and my parents are helping to pay so I had to let them have some say in who was invited.

    Adam and I each are inviting 100, expecting 175180 to show. We both come from big families and it is within our budget.

    Ours is around 80 and I consider that to be small. In fact, our venue is discounting our rate by $1,200 for having such a "small" event.

    We're having 60, at most.

    When DH and I were paying for it the guest list was 100 - 150. His mom offered a sum of money and wants a nicer reception, so we had to cut people. But, she's taken over planning and dealing with the entire thing, so I really don't care at this point. I bought my dress, I told her what I want, and she's a better planner and hostess than I can be right now with my other responsibilities.

    I wanted around 150 but I'm at 184. My absolute max is 190. Both mine and FI's families are quite large and we just have a lot of friends that we wouldn't feel comfortable not inviting.

    My FI is a Fire Medic, so it is expected that we invite the entire freaking Fire Department and I am an EMT so I have to invite everyone from my department or someone will be offended. I would love to keep it at 100 people but I dont think that will happen. He also has a large family and I have a large family, so the chances of us coming in around 200 people is probable. ARGH

    My venue holds 120, so far our guest list is at 113 but we know about 15 of them won't be able to come. It'll probably end up being at or under 100. My mom's side is large and both sides of FI's family are tiny lol.

    We are at 300+ right now, and that's just cutting it off at 1st cousins and really close friends.  Huge families will do that.  I'm thinking the final number will probably be around 275, but we're budgeting for about 325 to make sure we're covered.

    First guest list done brought us to about 140 people. I wasn't comfortable with that knowing it would cost around 100$/person for what we want. Cut it down to about 95 now.
