Necklace vs Earrings?

Help!  I am wearing a strapless lace dress that has sash with a flower on it.  I plan to wear my hair half up with a birdcage veil (just for the ceremony).  I am in love with this double stranded vintage pearl necklace with a brooch but I am afraid it will take away from the dress.  I have noticed a lot of brides foregoing necklaces altogether and only wearing earrings.  What are your thoughts???

    If you love the necklace, then wear it. It won't distract from the beauty of the dress as long as you keep the rest of your jewelry simple. But I'd probably wear simple pearl earrings rather than no earrings at all. Studs would work, as would a small drop, around a 1/2" maybe.

    The "rule" is to balance your statement pieces for each area of the body. Bold necklace, simple or no earrings. Bold ring, simple or no bracelet. Bold shoes, simple or no anklets/toe rings. Etc....

    That's a lovely necklace!  I'd wear it with simple earrings.

    I wore a strapless dress and wore my pearls with very simple gold earrings.

    First - Lovely Maggie Gown!!  I'm a Maggie Bride-to-be as well ;) but with a different dress. So I recognized the dress, background and model right away.  I guess I've looked her website a lot if I admit to noticing all that.

    Personally because you have a lot going on with the flowers in the front, I think the necklace will steal away the show from the dress.  However, the necklace is beautiful but for this dress you may want to consider just some nice earrings.  I actually thought at first the opposite because if you love the necklace you should wear it but because of the flower, I think you should skip the necklace.  Another idea though...  What if you skipped the necklace for the ceremony but during dinner or sometime during the reception you could put it on.  By then, everyone has seen you in your dress and not you, dress and necklace?  Just an idea.  You have fantastic taste I have to say!     Your dress is beautiful! IMO I would go with a simple pearl bracelet and pearl or short pearl drop earrings.
