Lunch and Question

Good morning, Ladies -

What's for lunch today?  I'm having a leftover turkey burger, rice and cucumbers.

I'm really starting to stress out about the wedding being so close.  It feels like I have so much to do and just not enough time to do it.  Any one else feeling like this?  What do you do to de-stress and gain perspective?  I think I'm going to start going to yoga again.  I think that will really help my stress levels.  LOL!

Re: Lunch and Question

  • Yoga is definitely good for the soul. I have a hard time relaxing (clearly - I pile way too much on my plate!) but I always feel more at peace and refreshed after yoga. I get energy from exercise in general but yoga does something different...
What's nice is a nice bike ride or even just a walk to clear your mind.
A coffee date or a night out with a girlfriend can really ease my stress too; laughter really does help!

Lunch was the usual egg white wrap and greek yogurt - protein packed and yummy!

My FI actually got me a bike for my birthday last month, so we have been going on family bike rides which is a lot of fun, but not very relaxing bc my FI and daughter want to race....  LOL!  We are going out of town this weekend, but I think starting next week I'm going back to the saturday yoga classes at the gym.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />  Oh, and I definitely agree that yoga does something different than just regular exercise!  Wish I could get my FI to go too, bc he could definitely use some stress coping skills...

  • Lunch was General Tso's tofu & brown rice. Not the healthiest, but i indulged a little. Still have quite a bit of calories left for today too!

I'm starting to feel really anxious that we wedding is so close (I'm at 3 months & 1 day as of today!). I'm finding that having Britt as an accountability partner is helping! I tell her my goals for the week, what gets accomplished, what still needs to be done, and where I'm at with things in progress. Instead of looking at a huge "To-do" list and feeling overwhelmed, I can focus on the goals I told her I'm getting done accomplished.

  • I do want to add that it's important to take the time for yourself no matter how busy or stressed you are. With the house and wedding, I'm stressed!! But that's when I need MY time the most. I still do my daily workouts and make it a priority. I'm also trying extra hard to eat the right foods that keep my tummy happy and my body functioning at top notch. The healthier I am both mentally and physically, the easier it is for me to take on the world LOL

  • i'm home sick today so i'm eating (vegan) chicken noodle soup for lunch.

i'm not really feeling stressed, but i almost never get stressed. i probably won't until the week before or so, and that will be all nerves, not really stress over things that still have to be done. i'd like to do some more projects but i still feel like it's too far out to be printing programs. i have a hard time making decisions so i know that i will change my mind on how they should look before september, so i want to wait as long as possible before i decide on my final design.

similarly, i came up with the idea of getting my BM's jewelry travel rolls as their gift a long time ago, but i still haven't ordered them because i'm nervous that i'll come up with a better idea or something. part of me wants to just order them and be done with it, but the other half wants to wait until the absolute last minute before ordering them just to make sure i'm 100% sure.
    Happily married since 9/1/2012!

  • I had cereal for lunch (the special k with strawberries, yum) and still have my kiwi left.

I started to really enjoy yoga (only recently started) but the instructor at my gym is injured so the class has been cancelled three weeks in a row :(.  I was stressing about all of the little projects I planned so I brought a box of supplies into the office and instead of going out to lunch or shopping like I used to do, I take an hour to work on that.  It makes me feel productive to do a little each day.
  • I had a california avocado veggie burger, a little bit of rice, corn, and carrots for lunch.

I'm so stressed right now!  I do have to say this week has been better because I got my paper done for my class last weekend so I just have a little more reading and a final for that class!  I am a horrible stresser though.  I don't cope well and it is something I wish I handled better.  Right now FI is my stress-relief.  Any time I present a problem to him he comes up with a solution to fix it and pushes me to do so (sometimes with things like confrontation I am slow to jump at it to fix the problem because I don't like confrontation).  Taking some time to relax with him every night is so important to me.  As soon as this class is over in 10 days I am going to be incorporating more exercise into my life because I know that will help big time and with only 1 class to juggle until August, I'll have more time to make it a priority.
  • Salad - Mixed greens, dried cranberries, walnuts, apple and raspberry poppyseed dressing.

I crochet, that helps a lot. Also working out is a great stress relief for me!
  • I had an Asian chicken salad for lunch. Not bad.

I'm feeling insanely stressed... have been since we started planning. Working 60 hours a week means I get nothing done. I took monday off from work to do wedding stuff and we got FI's outfit, but there is just SO MUCH left to do. Now I am possibly going to have to move before the wedding and I just do NOT have time for that. At all. To destress, I usually rant to my mom, or I go on the weekend and bump off a few things on the list that need doing.
  • I am currently having (late lunch) half of a turkey sandwich on whole grain wheat and a small mixed greens salad.

I go in and out of being stressed. I stress for a while and then I remind myself that nothing is THAT big of a deal except for the actual marriage part, and I feel a little better. I've been working out and that really helps with the stress (especially when I go alone). I agree with PP that walks help, too. Even getting lost in a book helps me to relax.

  • A grilled chicken sandwich from Subway...... I have spent the last two days @ the eye center with my MIL while she was getting her cateracts removed, so no other options :(

I read when I feel myself getting stressed. Nothing can take me as far away as a great book!
  • I had a guilty pleasure....philly cheesesteak pizza for lunch.  I am totally stressing out, just trying to make sure it all gets done and my FI thinks I am crazy.  I just want to get as much as possible done now so that the last month isn't insanely busy.  When I am insanely busy, I get crabby!

  • Today, I wasn't hungry at lunch time and wasn't feeling well, so I actually ended up having a cup of coffee and some (very diluted) cranberry juice.  I'm not normally a meal-skipper, but today it just wasn't going to happen.

As far as stress goes, right now I'm just hoping that my fiance is on shore for our wedding...  Naw, as far as the actual controllable variables: food, booze, venue, DJ, etc., those are all great.

To relieve stress, I like to walk my dog and listen to podcasts or music.  I also like a good shower, preferably with my favorite homemade body scrub (1/4 c coarse sea salt plus a couple tablespoons olive oil mixed into a paste).
