Wedding Invitations & Paper

Anyone used Got Print or other online printers?

Hi all -

I'm trying to order my invitations today. I had them designed through Printable Press and am trying to decide on an online printer that is affordable but still nice. Got Print seems to have good prices and they're printed on 100lb matte paper but I wasn't sure if anyone has used them? If so please let me know what you thought. If you haven't but have another suggestion I would love to hear it.

  • I used http://www.invitationdiscounters.com. They are 35-42% off retail. We had shimmer pockets with several enclosures and saved like $200 off retail.
  • I  used catprint.com, and was really impressed. Turn around was quick (about a week or so), their pricing was incredibly reasonable and you can completely customize the sizing of your invitations/inserts/etc. They have tons of paper options as well. HIGHLY recommended.

<div>I second catprint.com, my invites from them turned out awesome.</div><div>
</div><div>If you are having any issues with how it look on screen versus howit looks when it is printed, it's something on your end - either your screen color resolution is off or the resolution of the original document isn't high enough to print without looking pixely.  Just because something looks fine on the screen doesn't mean it is going to print well.</div><div>
</div><div>I assume they'd allow PDFs, but I'd make sure that your resolution is 250ppi at bare minimum for text and more for images to ensure that things don't turn out pixelated!</div>

  • I recommend weddingpaperdivas - Can't say enough good things about them.  You get a 20% discount if somebody you know is willing to give you their costco membership number, and you fill in the invitation as you go on their website - if you have any special requests you can enter that into a box at each stage, and they will have their designers accommodate them and send you a proof for approval before printing for free.  I think having a human being on the other end look at it is extremely important.

PDFs are fine so long as they are high resolution. I would imagine that the designer you purchase the files from knew you intend to print them, so they are probably fine.  I did a mock up on Vistaprint to test my resolution before uploading to Catprint (once uploaded it will tell you whether the resolution is good, excellent or too low). You may want to try that. You could also probably email the files to Catprint and ask them if the resolution is OK. If not, you'll need to go back to the designer and have them revise.
