Should I or don't even bother?

I had my dress altered and I have a pair of 3.5 inch heels and a 2.5 inch pair of wedge style flip flops. They said it would be best to alter it to the 3.5 inch heels since I wanted to wear them for the ceremony. I am now second guessing that choice because I am not super comfortable in my shoes. Should I purchase a pair of 3.5 inch platform flip flops so my dress doesn't drag when I walk down the aisle should I choose not to wear my heels? I want the option but don't know if my 2.5 inch flip flops will be good enough or am I overthinking it?

Re: Should I or don't even bother?

  • So you would just be wearing the heels for the ceremony? How are you not comfortable in them? Do you wear heels usually?
  • Yes I bought the heels for the pictures and for the ceremony and figured for the reception,  I would justr change into the flip flops for dancing and such. They're an inch shorter than my heels so if I wanted to wear them during the ceremony, I'm afraid the dress will drag a little and not look as good.
  • Could you do like am adjustable hoop? I got a cheap one from my seamstess and when I am wearing my heels I have it adjusted smaller and once I change into my dancing flats I just adjust the hoop bigger so that the dress doesn't drag on the ground.
  • I wouldn't wear 2.5 in heels for the ceremony if the dress is altered for 3.5.  Buy new flip flops or wear the heels, I'd say.

  • I think I am going to suck it up and wear them for the ceremony and pictures and than take them off for the reception. The difference isn't too much when I put each shoe on one foot so I don't think it will drag like it would in regular flips flops. Thanks ladies!
