Shopping for a Wedding Gown

I am getting married on November 26, 2011.  Do you ladies think it is too early for me to start my search for the perfect gown.?  I just don't want to find a dress now and later on have regrets or think there is something else out there.  Should I wait until the spring?

I think you can start now, some gowns take 6-9 months to come in. If you aren't ready to start shopping you can atleast gather some pictures together of styles you like so your prepared when you do go shopping.

Once you find your dress you should really stop looking. I purchased a dress and kept looking and found something else I love! I definitely recommend you stop looking at dresses so you won't end up with two like myself

Nope go for it! I bought my dress in July of 2010 and my wedding is in Sept of this year. It was perfect and a great deal. My two favorite things!

msapril, that is my fear, I find a dress and then I see another dress  four months later and I want to buy that dress also.  I am known for taking items back after I get home and decide I dont want the items. :( I know i can not return the dress.  I am thinking about going this weekend I will let you ladies know how it turns out.  (Pray for me)  :)  Thanks again ladies

My wedding is in October of this year and I purchased my dress in Nov. and was told it won't be in until May. It is definitely not too early.

I purchased my dress exactly one year out. If you like to return things then start now. Pick the dress sleep on it for a week or twon and then go back and see if you still want it. They way you don't take it home but you get a week or 2 to think about it.

Yeah it's not to early. My wedding is in September and I still don't have a dress. Started shopping in May to get ideas, went back in July and thought I had it picked out but started second guessing myself. My goal is to go out again in the next few weeks and find my dress cause I'm 8 months out.

I'd say no. I purchased mine in June of 2010 and it didn't arrive until October 2010. I have time to shape up before the wedding in August. I don't look at other dresses anymore only dresses for the bridesmaids. I think by starting early you have more time to see what's out there and make an informed decision verses going when it's time to really pick something and not having enough time to view all possible options.
