Hotel "Welcome" Bags for Local Guests?

My fiance likes the idea of creating "welcome bags" for guests staying at a local hotel just adjacent to our reception site.  Only 2 potential couples would be from out of town.  Any thoughts as to whether we do bags for all hotel guests (even if they live around here or within a 30 minute drive)? or whether we should reserve them for out of town guests alone?

All advice is appreciated!!

We're doing bags for everyone staying at the hotel, not just OOTers. I figure if they are paying for the hotel then we can give them a little gift bag.

I would definitely go for everyone. Think of it this way- buying in bulk keeps the cost down :) Honestly tho- its SUCH a personal touch. My guests raved about it mostly because it was so unexpected for them. Its a nice extra thank you.

I agree, we just attended a few weddings. At one, everyone recieved a bag, it was thoughtful and I appreciated it.

At the other, we stayed at an inn with a few other guests, we were "local" OOT and the others got on a plane. I hope it was an oversight that there was no bag or anything for us, becuase we still paid for the room, becuase it made us feel as if we weren't as important. And the other guests were raving about the contents of the bag, and their door hanger.

We'll be doing baskets for everyone.

We did OOT bags for all guests staying at the hotel where we blocked rooms.  I have info in my bio (under Paper/DIY) on what we included in the bag.

We did them for all guests (and we had people staying at 2 hotels), and they were very much appreciated! It's nice to offer snacks and water, if not for getting in from traveling, definitely for the post-party munchies :)

    Hi,

We did them for everyone and they loved them.  We had people at 5 different hotels(48 rooms) and it was about $2.00 a bag to give them out, but well worth it from the compliments we received.

Listed below is what we included if it is helpful. I made the "Do not disturb" signs myself and decorated the bags myself to cut down on the cost.
    We included:
    Cape cod chips (Shaws)
    Red Sox Pen (I Party)
    Boston Baked Beans (I Party)
    Necco Wafers (I Party)
Boston Post Cards - (Fanueil Hall and the old State House, downstairs)  they have a book of old Boston post cards then we found the new Boston post cards that matched.  We addressed and stamped one postcard to the Bride and Groom with a tag saying please drop us a line and let us know how you enjoyed your stay in Boston-- the second one we put a stamp on for them to mail to whomever they want.
Boston sightseeing flyers ( we got these at the Old State House, downstairs and by stopping at hotels and picking a few up.)
    MBTA schedules
    Lobster lollipops (Melville candy.com)
"Things to do in Boston" brochure- We made this.
Personalized Water Bottles  (I made these)
    Granola Bars
    Dancing Beer Cookies
Do not disturb door hanger - I made these, very easy.
