Day of "shuttle"

Okay, so I've been trying to figure out the dynamics for day-of transportation and I keep running into a glitch for the end of the night!

My plan right now is to rent a charter school bus for earlier in the day (1pm-5pmish to drive around and take photos with the wedding party). The reception is going to last till at LEAST 11pm, but we have the possibility of staying as late as we want and aren't going to stop the party early (we're hoping people will want to stay till at least 1am)...my problem is that I don't know how to arrange for transportation at the end of the evening!

What do you girls recommend? Taxi? Metro-car?

I was hoping to find a shuttle kind of solution that could make multiple trips from the venue to the hotel we will have rooms blocked off in to accomodate any guests who are likewise staying at the hotel...is there a service that is reasonably priced that will do as many trips as we want for like a 2 hour block?

Ditto Liz. I'm also considering a shuttle to take guests to/from the reception from their hotel. I've heard Royal Transportation is decent (used to use them for work) and I think Cori just booked them and from her review, they looked pretty reasonable cost-wise.

I'd agree though that if it's just for you two, I'd arrange for a taxi or Metro Car, or just plan to have one of your cars at the reception site that you two can take back to the hotel.

Have you checked with your hotel to see if they have a shuttle?  Often times if you book X many rooms in a block, they will include a shuttle for free/for a discount.  This would be my first suggestion.

Also, who all are you looking to use the shuttle?  Just you two?  The WP?  All guests?  My inclination is that you wouldn't necessarily need one for the guests since they will presumably have had to get to the ceremony/reception so they would have their own transportation of some kind.

But if its for you and/or the WP, I would look into metro cars or something similar for a small group.

This.  Royal Transportation was great.  The shuttle was a nice looking shuttle with great rates.  If you pay them by check, they don't charge a 3% credit card fee.  I'd definitely use them again.  The best part about them is they allow you to break your time up.  If you want 4 hours, then they can do an hour from the hotel to the venue and 3 hours back to the hotel or 2 and 2.  However you want it.  And if you have a DOC, they will contact them directly to let them know the drivers name.  I literally told them what I wanted, paid for it and never talked to them again.  They were there on time and got all my guests safely to the hotel.  It was definitely great money spent.

It was $440 for 4 hours.  You can include the tip, but we chose to give the driver a tip at the end of the night.  I wanted to make sure the driver got it and not the company.

Do you mind sharing with me how many hours you utilized them for and how much it cost?

Were you able to break up the time? Like have them from 2-5pm and then have them come back from 10pm-midnight or something?
