Photographer Recommendations

Ninth Anniversary 2500 Comments Combo Breaker
in Pennsylvania-Philadelphia
First up on the list that I am making is photographers that I should look into. I don't have a wedding budget yet, so I'm not exactly sure what my photography budget will be, it could probably be anywhere from 2500 to 5000, depending. So, any recommendations in this range? Thanks!

    Welcome to the board! I'm also in the process of looking at photogs. We've looked at 4 so far and have a 5th appt on Tuesday. The prices I've been quoted so far range from about $3500 to about $6500. Artisitc Imagery in Bensalem and Clair Pruett in Blue Bell were closer to the $3500 range if you wanted to start there.

    Let's see if our troll comes out of hiding for me - if so I can PM you recommends.  Disclaimer: I was married two years ago, so prices are now likely more than what I paid, but I had a budget of about $3000 back in the day. I used Doug of Candid Moments photograhy and was very happy...although I have heard some things about him lately that make me a little more hesitant to recommend him.  Check him out yourself, though - our photos were great and our guests seemed to really like him.  I also looked into Sarah Schulte, who has a very different style from Doug but is a pleasure to work with and a sweetheart.  Others I would recommend based on seeing work from friends' weddings: Sandor Welsh, Ryan Estes, Mike Landis, Sharyn Frankel, Rich Lavigne, and, drumroll, Tony Hoffer.  (He will probably blow the budget but his work is insane.) Hope that helps!

    A note about Artistic Imagery:  they will assign you a photographer that you won't meet them until a couple weeks before the wedding.  Personally, I like to know who is going to spend 8 hours with me before I sign a contract.   I used them for my wedding and I was less then thrilled with the outcome.

    I second Mike Landis.  He does great work.  If you have a little extra to spend, I die for Cindy Guessford.

    I will recommend my photographer, Craig Single, of Single Exposure Photography. He is very nice & talented and a pleasure to be around. Some of the other photographer mentioned above I met with and found them to be a little too "artsy" for me and more worried about getting the magazine ready shot that they could submit to a contest then making me happy. Craig is not like that at all. Any other question PM me.

    We booked him last summer for our June 2012 wedding for a package around $3500 which includes everything we want in a photography package including e-pics, copyright release, album, entire wedding day and more.

    Matt is really laid back and awesome to work with.  We did our e-pic session with him earlier this summer and if you'd like, those pics are in my planning bio.

    I used Mike Landis and my second shooter was Ryan Estes who is equally as amazing and I adore.   I also have used Sarah Schulte before (for bpics) and LOVE her.  Her style is a little different and more of the vintage look, so it depends on what you are going for.  I also like Hoffer, Doug Burns, and Cindy Guessford as previously mentioned.

    I just got married on Saturday and absolutely love my photographer.  His name is Georgi Anastasov.  If you look on his blog, our engagement pictures are there (Michelle and Tony).  He really wmade us comfortable.

    Ann Marie Casey/Case Gallery from Ardmore is awesome! She's done budoir shots for me and they turned out just beautifully. Also, she's fairly reasonable and includes videography services. She's on the Knot's vendor list :)

    My photographer is Paul Roebuck from Unique Concepts Studios.  We got the biggest package they have which came to $3600.  It includes two photographers and engagement photos.  The more of his work I see, the more I fall in love.

    Paul R. Lutes Photography does great work. He is under $4k and can provide a second shooter as long as you let him know. He also has options for albums if you ask for them. his website it

    We have chosen Lauren Fair Photography for our wedding. I knew who she was before I realized she was a photographer. As soon as i looked up her website i fell in love with her work. Her and her husband work together and they are just great! She had such a fresh style and her pictures capture so much emotion. I absolutely cannot wait for her to photograph our wedding!!!
