how much for alterations generally????

Just trying to figure out budget details and wanted to know what were some of the prices for alterations you ladies had?  I know it will vary depending on how extensive the alteration was, but just trying to get some sort of idea...$50 $100 $200???  TIA

    I'm payint $75 for mine. But I've had friends pay $200 for thiers. It really depends on your dress and what you need done. Deffinately check around.

    It also greatly depends on where you go. The bridal shop I went to (in Ohio) charges $150  just for the hem. I'm sure if you took it to an independent seamstress (shop around for reviews, of course) it would be a lot less.

    I would guess anywhere from 75 - 300 
    hemming multiple layers is expensive
    cutting down an entire size is
    adding a new neckline, etc

    we added buttons over my daughter's zipper w/ the elastic hooks and although it cost around 50 it made the back of the dress so much prettier.

    It is all in what needs to be done and comparing from dress style to dress style is difficult.

    I am spending about 150 for my alterations.  That includes altering my dress down at least one size, bustle and shortening the hem in the front. HTH!
