NWR: BCP to NFP

Has anyone on here gone off BCP and switched to NFP?
I stopped taking my bcp in early November and I'm still waiting for my period to come. How long did it take for yours to come back?
There's no way I'm pregnant, so I'm just curious.

I went off BCP to NFP in May.  It took like 30-32 days to get my period.  But that is normal for me.

My temps were very strange though for the entire 1st month.  Instead of being in the mid 97's at the beginning, it was mid 98's. And I never really had a temp shift to determine O, but somehow managed to get my period.  My temps did not have a "normal" pattern until the 3rd cycle.

Did you have a temp shift to indicate O?  How long ago was that if you had one?

Here's a pic of my chart. I have no idea if I O'd or not since it was all over the place. (I do my temps in celcius)

i got my period right away after going off, and it was 3-4 days long as it had been while on the pill.  ever since, though, its come every month but is pretty much just one day long.

your temps do seem to be a bit off.... its quite possible you arent ovulating yet.  are you consistently taking your temp first thing in the am before doing anything else?

Yup. 6AM every day. the two temps with the X's over them were later.

That is how my 1st chart looked.  With the crazy temps.  It kind of looks like you ovulated day 28 by the shift, but it's really hard to tell for sure.  I'm pretty sure our book said you need 4 temps above the LTL to be sure you've ovulated after coming off BCP.  They do not need to hit the HTL though.

It doesn't look like you've ovulated yet to me. I've heard it can take a while for you to get your period, but sometimes doctors will force it via meds if you haven't gotten it after like 60 days or something like that!

I've never tried NFP but I went off BCP for a little while. It took more than a month and a half to get my period again-- which was really annoying after the clockwork  BC periods. Can't help with your chart, but it's normal for it to take over a month to get back to normal.

I haven't started NFP but I have been off BCP for a month before and never got my period. I had to get meds from my doc to make it start. It's definitely normal for your cycle to be off for a while and for it to take a longer than you'd like to get your first period off BCP.

mcdol, did you always get your period or did you start the next pack to avoid a period?  ive often wondered if this might be why some get their period right away and others dont.  i always got my period while on it - seemed weird to me not to get it.

Always got it like clockwork. Tuesday mornings after the last pill.
I was switching pills every 5 months due to breakthrough bleeding and none of the pills being able to really stop that. (hence why I stopped taking them altogether). I had never had any trouble with it until 2 years ago.
