A prayer for my future sister-in-law

My future sister and brother-in-law are in the process of trying to adopt a 2-year old girl with down syndrome from Russia.  They already have a 2-year old boy with down syndrome of their own, and raising him has created a special place in their heart for children with disabilities.  They are fantastic parents, and would be the perfect people to adopt this little girl (her name is Mary), but the process does cost a lot of money.  Many prayers are in need for them that they are able to bring her home and raise enough money to adopt her-thank you!

Wow, they sound like very special people.  Hope it goes well... I can't believe adoption is so expensive!  I wish there weren't so many abortions, as there are so many parents looking to adopt.

I find it bizarre how expensive adoption is too...in Russia down syndrome is very frowned upon in society, and if the down syndrome children aren't adopted by the time they're three, they're put into mental institutions for life...it's heartbreaking and surprising how expensive it is to adopt these children.  I'm praying very hard that they can raise the money to adopt her ($30,000!!!) so she can have a great life.

Wow!  I have two college friends who just adopted two children from Ethiopia and it WAS so expensive.  They did a lot of fund raisers to help them raise the money for their adoptions.  But they have their babies now and it's just so exciting that all of that waiting is behind them.

I'll be praying - they do sound like very special people.
