Guest book

You ladies always have awesome ideas!  I was wondering what ideas you had for guestbooks outside of the traditional ones.

Thanks
Erika

Re: Guest book

  • I love pictures so I'm doing everyone's photobooth picture with a personal note from them next to it. I've seen a thumbprint guest book, a framed picture with all the guests signatures around it. There are so many ideas on Pinterest or even just Google. Good luck with your search!
  • I really love the photobooth guestbook idea.  Although at the wedding I attended last weekend we just kept our photobooth pics.  :p

I've seen "guestbook stones" (I think Kristan was going to do that, thumbprint trees (and one REALLY cute thumbprint "Up!" house!), photobooks, a "clothesline" where guests clip pieces of paper with well-wishes.

    You might check Pinterest.

If you had engagement pictures done then you could also do a photobook with those pictures (leaving blank spaces on the sides for notes/signatures). There's also the "rock" guestbook where everyone writes their notes on stones and then you can display them in a nice vase in your home. Another one that I've seen recently is to have different drop boxes for guests to write you notes/advice that you will open on your 1st, 5th, and 10th anniversaries. I think that's a pretty cool one.

I know this belonged to Amy, but we're doing this too!
  • My bunco group made me a money board as a gift..it had some of our e pics. I repurposed it into a guest book and included squares of cardstock for people to write well wishes on.

  • I fretted more than anything about the stupid guest book!  I really wanted it to be something different and unique and something that tied into the look and feel of our wedding.

Looking back now, I wish  I hadn't wasted so much thought on this!  We decided to use a really nice, leather bound wine journal, as our wedding was at a winery, and DH and I LOVE wine.  Our hope was that people would write their cute little notes, thoughts, etc and sign their name, and would be something we could keep out in our wine room.  What ended up happening, was people just signed their name.  Total let down!

At our photobooth, we had an old account's journal (DH is a CPA) and when you took a picture, it printed out two strips, one for the guest to take, and one for them to leave in our book with a note.  People actually did that, so that turned out much cooler than we anticipated!
  • We are doing a photo booth scrapbook and a photo matte for the guests to sign.  We didn't want a traditional book with signatures.  I can't wait to read all the comments from the photo booth.  Fi and I were at a friends wedding with one also and had a blast with it.  It will be nice to see that the guests had fun when we were busy meeting and greeting :)

  • Oh, I think it's worth mentioning that we are going to have a traditional guestbook in addition to the fingerprint picture. We have a huge book we got from Hobby Lobby because I still wanted the book I could put on my shelf with ALL of our wedding parties and showers' guest lists.
  • I really want to have a mailbox painted with our wedding date on it and then have people sign it, then they can leave us notes on postcards. We'll use the mailbox in our forever home.

I haven't decided yet for sure but I'm really leaning toward using engagement pictures in a photobook. Very similar to this.

That's a great idea! It's very similar to getting an engagement pic framed and having people sign the mat around it.
  • We made personalized library check out cards with our wedding date as the check out date and we're asking our guests to sign in the blank space where the name of the book would be.  I found an antique-looking book and we are sticking the card pockets 2 to each page where they can slide the "check out" card into when they're done signing it :)

  • I'm making this

Wanted something easy, cheap, but also useful. You can use whatever shape you want, but I think we are sticking with hearts. Really the only thing I'm changing is we are just going to have the heart cutouts at the wedding, that way if people mess up, they can just get a new one. That also keeps us from having two full canvases and then one that has like five signatures on it.

  • Im doing a well wishes tree, my theme is peacock feathers so I made my own notecards and stamped a feather on the back.

We did a photo guest book with e-pics ... and got about 20 signatures total (on just one page of the 20-page book). Mostly just the kids signed in, which was cute, but not worth what I paid for the book (+ rush shipping because I couldn't decide until the last minute).
