Confessions? Vents? Bring 'em on!!

Confession: I'm completely skipping class tomorrow. All of them. I have family coming in from Georgia tomorrow night and plus I have to work late tonight...Stupid EMR...anyways I know I'm going to be so tired (lol not really. It just helps me feel justified by saying that). Yep, I'm an underachiever...and this week I just don't care.

Vent: So my friend S dated this guy for awhile. Let's call him B. S and B had issues. They were both physically and verbally abusive to each other. Despite that, they got engaged. 6 months later, they ended the relationship. And boy was it a bad one. He started literally stocking her and harrassed her at the college they both attended. She got the law involved and he has been charged with harrassment and stocking. They haven't had their court date yet. So the other weekend, B and all his friends were getting drunk at the lake. He and the other boys kept calling and txting S trying to get her to go down to the lake. S wouldn't go. The guys kept on calling her. S's mother, step-dad, older brother, and grandparents show up at the lake instead where S's mother beat the heck out of B and 1 other boy. The other boys that were there left. The next day, B, his dad, BIL, and uncle show up at S's house. His dad pulled a gun on her step-dad and the uncle tried to stab her mother. The BIL cut her dogs throat. The cops were called and all the men were arrested.
On this ridiculas Topix website, people are saying it was a "kkk beating" (which isn't true plus all involved are white). S has got on there under several different names and is telling the actual story plus adding more to it. She even brought another girl in to it and said "___ ____ is a STD infested whore"......

I get that S is pissed about all this, but she's went way overboard. Her family shouldn't have done what they did and his shouldn't have either. I think they are all crazy, personally. The girl S mentioned had nothing to do with anything that happened. And saying publically that someone has an STD is completely uncalled for and rude. And plus I don't think from a legal standpoint that she should be talking about any of it because it will probably come back to bite her in the ass. I'm quite upset with S at the moment.

Sugar - I am in absolute shock that your vent even occurred! I can't even imagine that happening to people I know!

Confession: I have worked really hard to get to where I am in my career. Now that I am here - I'm not sure I want to be. Obviously I like what I do and my paycheck but I always feel like I am a glorified babysitter except the the kids are my staff.

Vent: Nothing too serious today. I got new contacts (same brand as before) and they just don't feel right. I've spent all morning pushing my eyelids and didn't bring any glasses.

So when I started this thread, I posted it and then realized I was only about 35% certain that today was Thursday. I had to go check the calendar to be sure.

Confession: I'm probably going to spend most of my time at work today just looking busy, because I'm tired, I have a massive headache, and I'm having a bad hair day. I'm in a lousy mood and all I want to do is sit here and have a pity party and maybe eat ice cream for lunch.

Vent: My mother has been totally uninvolved in any wedding stuff. Now, to be fair, her mother (my grandma) pretty much took over my parents' wedding and planned the wedding she (grandma) wanted but never had, so my mother told me that she knew how miserable that was, and that she wouldn't do that to her own daughters. Also, one of my younger sisters is getting married this fall, so my mom is tied up with that. But still...it would be nice if she would at least ask once in a while where we were at with our plans, just to show a little interest.

Kelly, this has never happened to anyone I know either, until now. I thought she was making it up until I heard it from everyone in town. Funny thing is both families are very well known in the county and yet they still did all this. One of the boys who ran off when her mother got there was the sheriffs son!...who is under the age of 21 and was drinking. He and one of the boys who got beat up both work at the jail. Its crazy.

Oh, what a well timed topic for me, haha.

Confession: I'm taking a half day tomorrow. I only actually have two hours of comp time to use, so I should really leave at 2pm, but my hour lunch break starts at noon and in my head I can't justify working only one hour after lunch. I know wont be productive. So I'm just going to leave (the perks of being the only person staffed in a satellite office).

Vent: FI's job went into summer hours last week (he's the assistant director at the fieldhouse/fitness center for a local college) and he's been tired from the adjustment. The last two nights he's wanted to go to bed at 9:30! And today he doesn't go to work until 11am. So when the dog started whining at 5am this morning I figured he'd be nice and let the dog out, since He's the one who insisted on going to bed so early. And also because he knows I have an eleven hour day today with tons of stuff to do. But he just rolled over and ignored the dog, so I had to get up an hour before my alarm and let him out, then I couldn't go back to bed (didn't try, I knew I wouldn't be able to). So now I lost an hour of sleep and have an eleven hour day. He slept until 7am, doesn't go in until 11am and since the students are all gone for the summer, the only fitness center is pretty much dead. The only people in there are the office ladies on lunch, townies with paid memberships(which you need a connection to college to obtain, so they're limited) or the old people who walk the indoor track. He just sits in his office on facebook all day. I was so disgruntled when I got up. It just seemed so incredibly inconsiderate of him. He knew I was mad too and tried to make it up to me by rubbing my back because I have tension knot the size of Texas in my one shoulder. I would have preferred my sleep though.

Sugar- that's so crazy! I feel like things like that only happen in movies or on tv

Confession- I have done a whole lot of nothing at work the last 3 weeks except be on here, my e-mail, facebook, pinterest and reddit. My project is still at a standstill so it's not like I'm slacking I just don't have anything going on. I REALLY want to call out of work tomorrow and be lazy but I probably won't.

Vent- I got a quote from a local photographer for e-pics and it was so cheap! I really wanted to do it but FI is not on board. He said that he's already done them (he was engaged once before) and it's a waste of money since we won't really use them for anything especially since we have so many pictures from the day we got engaged. I want to get them done to have to remember this time and think photo shoots are a lot of fun. We did one in Cancun and had a great time and still love all of those pictures. I feel like I'm getting shafted because he's already done it. I'm going to have to work on him though.

Confession: FI told me the other night that his dad might be joining in with us on our Chicago trip (that I was excited for because I could get one on one time with FI). I'm so annoyed by the whole thing, and I really don't want his dad to be there. However, I can't say no because FI only saw his dad one weekend a month (because he works in Indiana while his family lives in Missouri), and that was before FI moved away to live with me. I feel awful for pulling him away from his family so I can't tell FI that his dad being there will probably cause me to sit in our hotel room (that FFIL would have stayed in with us, something I'm not at ALL comfortable with, had we had more than one bed) by myself watching TV while they have a good time with FI's friends, the friends he's bringing me to meet. I'm having a hard time looking forward to this trip now even though I've been excited about it for months.

Vent: I was so excited to post yesterday in Wedding Wednesday about getting our contract for our venue in the mail because I was told it was going to be mailed last Friday. It still isn't here, and I don't know what the hold up is. I e-mailed them last night to ask when/if it was sent, but I haven't gotten a response yet. They always take a while to get back to me. I'm really hoping it appears in my mailbox in a few hours.
On the same subject of mail, I've been checking everyday for FI's check from closing his credit union accounts to come in. That was requested last Wednesday, and it's been a week so FI called yesterday. They told him his account was still open so he explained the fax that he sent requesting it to be closed and the check to be mailed to us. They just found the fax yesterday, a week after it got there, and will be sending the check now. I was really hoping to have that money for Chicago this weekend, but we won't get it in time unless it's overnighted. He trusted these people with his money for about 20-21 years, and they can't keep track of a fax? And to think, I was mad at the mail delivery person for all of this all week...

I'm vent free this week! But probably because I'm feeling particularly lazy, which brings me to my...
confession! I have been so lazy these past few days, spending way too much time lounging around, surfing the internet for nothing, and yesterday I spent an embarressing amount of time watching "Toddlers and Tiaras", my guilty pleasure. Gotta get my butt in gear and get some stuff done, later maybe!

Whoa Sugar, and I thought I knew some crazy people...

Confession: FI is driving me nuts with his inability to make a decision and just go with it. We finally heard word about his job change and the new garage is good. We don't have to move into Virginia and could stay where we are. Plus he is getting a sweet raise. We are thinking about possibly moving but need to wait a few months anyway to test the waters (see how bad the drive is around the lovely DC beltway) and our lease is up in 2.5 months anyways. Now, I have no desire whatsoever to move, but he is being a big baby about driving 40 miles. I will be driving 50 miles north for the next three months and indefinitely once I graduate in a couple years. And he is thinking we need to move further south to be closer to his work, clearly I am not a fan of further extending my future commute.

Vent: Along the same lines as my confession, but he is talking to other buddies who happened to get MD garages not VA garages (more ideal) and he's all trying to figure out if he should complain about it and im like uh NO FI will be making twice (actually $4 more than twice!) per hour than the offer these guys got, so you know, quite a substantial difference. AND he's already accepted the new position, I have no idea what he is thinking but Im like, don't say anything that might jeopardize you getting all the paperwork through so he can start at his new garage.

My photographer includes epics in our package. If you haven't booked a photographer yet try and find one who includes it. That might get him on board or at least justify having them done.

Confession: I'm sitting in the breakroom supposedly eating lunch. I finished my lunch 15 min. ago. So I'm sitting back here posting on the Knot Boards, checking email etc. don't really want to do anything today. I'm the boss so i can get away with it.. Lol Vent: I've emailed a couple different florists over a week ago and sent 2nd emails a couple days ago. Neither have answered my emails. Guess they don't want my business

bar- I agree with ktwed. I think you should go for a photog who includes e-photos. Ours has them with every package as "get to know you" sessions. That way she well, gets to know our personality and it helps be more friendly for the wedding itself since we already know each other. Also, my FI fought me on this last shoot because we did do one last year. It was a freebie, only got 3 photos on a cd (since it was free... but used it for the STD since our wedding is sunflowers and we had 30 mins in a sunflower field) and he was all like, I don't understand why we have to do two! But like I said, the one we booked came with it so he almost had no choice.

Seriously cnf, your vent is the story of my life. Our dog starts whining at 7am on the dot to be fed and taken out. Usually I am awake for work, or FI is just coming home from work (he works midnights) Some days I get to sleep until 8 or 9. FI can sleep seriously all day and refuses to get up, so I start flailing my arms in his direction until he wakes up.

I honestly really do not have any c and v's!

emilyb: I'm dealing with the same thing! My sister's wedding is next month. On Mother's Day I tried to show my mother a few things we're doing. She kept changing the subject.

I had a dream a few weeks ago that I was getting ready for my wedding, and I could hear people talking and laughing down the hall. I went to see what was going on, and my sisters and mother said they didn't want to get ready with me.
