OK, I know we've been over this before, but it's been a while...

Post your 1st dance songs!

I'm looking up mother-daughter dance songs (my father is out of the picture) and I'm legit crying at my desk here... my coworkers must think I need a therapist... they're probably right haha.

Lol why are you crying? Are you crying thinking of these songs and getting emotional? I think dancing with your mom would be a great idea!! My friend did that too but I don't know what their song was.

This is exactly why I'm crying ahhaa. I LOVE that Carrie Underwood song... I'm also considering "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack, but I can't even think of the lyrics to that song without losing it right now hahaha

PS - My mom also gave me the nicest V-day card this morning but at the end she wrote "Our last Valentine's Day together :(" so I've been kind of emotional today because of it.

Ah why do they have to pull on our heartstrings like that!! My mom sent me and Andy a card saying enjoy your last single valentine's day lol. I get emotional hearing songs in the car too. I have a whole wedding mix that I listen to. I love that song I hope you dance too!!

Guess where we are going for dinner tonight! Avenue East lol he wants sushi so we are going there tonight and a nice place on friday.

Bride/Groom: Feels Like Home by Chantal Kreviazuk

Father/Daughter: I'm dancing with both my dad and step-dad and I'm debating splitting one song in half so that people don't have to sit through as many of these dances. I like My Wish by Rascal Flatts but would also LOVE to find an appropriate Elton John song. Nothing yet.

Mother/Son: I don't think they'll have their own song. They'll probably join in with the Father/Daughter dance.

Ugh, I'm dreading thinking about this. It's tradition in my FI's culture to do an elaborate waltz as a first dance, that starts with the bride and groom, but then the bride's father cuts in with the bride, and the groom's mother cuts in with the groom, and then it keeps adding people from there. I have never been to a wedding where this has been done, so I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to comprehend the logistics or what kind of song to use. Plus I have no idea how to waltz!

When I graduated from college, my mom gave me a copy of a book with the lyrics in it with a CD and she wrote something on each page. I cannot even look at those lyrics without being hysterical. I will NOT be dancing with her to that song, despite the fact that it has special meaning!!!

Picking songs is so difficult!! As of now these are our favorites, but they could definitely change lol:

Bride/Groom: Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers

Father/Daughter: My Girl by The Temptations. My dad originally picked a Stevie Wonder song, but at the last two family weddings, my cousins danced to the same song he wanted, so we changed it.

FI will be dancing with his stepmother, so I'll have to help him pick something for them.

I might do a dance with my uncle for Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns and Roses. It's kinda our song. He used to play it on guitar and sing it to me to try and get me to sleep. It was the only thing that would get me to stop crying as a baby.

Father/daughter: I Loved Her First by Heartland...I had this in mind since it came out several years ago, but never mentioned it to anyone. I asked my dad last week what song he wanted to dance to, and he came up with this one, too! Guess it was meant to be.

Father/Daughter- Tale as Old as Time from Beauty and the Beastl

when i was little; i loved this movie, and everytime the ballroom scene came on I made my dad dance with me. So Im making him dance one more time.

Mother/Son- FMIL favorite song is Somewhere over the rainbow; and FI recorded a saxophone version a few years ago and never shared it with her. She also doesnt know that there will be a mother-son dance!

Only definite song so far I believe is my father/daughter song which is To sir, with love. My dad and I love old movies and there are some lines in that song that totally make me think of my dad. We had been thinking of Unforgettable and My dad loves nat King Cole but it's so over done

Omgggggg I just started to tear up to....wth lol!?!?! That "I hope you dance" song makes me absolutely lose it!!! I was thinking of that one for me and my dad. I also love the song "feels like home" for the bride/groom dance......ever since I saw the movie "how to lose a guy in ten days" lol ......gets me every time ugh!

I was just thinking about this today! The only song I know 100% for sure is the song FI will dance to with our girls...Amazing by Janelle. It will definitely make my cry, it does every time I hear it bc it makes me think of how much I love our two little girls...I'm all teary just thinking about it! I want to dance to either At Last by Etta James or God Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts for our 1st dance bc its been such a journey for us to finally be where we are after being apart for 5 years! I want to dance with my dad to I loved her first by heartland but I'm not sure & I don't know if FI is gonna dance with his mom or not. He's not a huge dancer so...
