Programs

Hi ladies!  I'm new to this board, I generally hang out on my month board, but FI and I are working on our programs tonight and I thought I'd ask some fellow Catholics - how much detail did you put into your programs, as far as the order of the mass was concerned?

I know I at least want to list things like the readings, which have additional detail to add (ex: the book/chapter and who's reading it) and probably the interactive bits (Our Father, sign of peace).  But I feel like listing EVERY aspect of the mass might be overkill (Gospel acclamation, for example)

How much detail did you put?

Also, did you write in 'please stand' or sit or kneel, at the appropriate points?  I think about 80% of our guests will be Catholic, and I'm pretty sure our priest will be giving verbal cues for each change, but I don't want our guests to feel out of place or lost...

TIA!

PS - this is a bit of a P&R, b/c it's past my bed time - but I'll be back tomorrow morning!

We have a Malankara rite ceremony so not too many people we invited knew how it went. We had to write everything out in detail and have descriptions for thing going on. I've been working on it for Months upon months.

I think it depends on how many Catholic vs. Non-Catholics you have and if people can follow along.

Our guest situation was similar to yours, about 70-80% Catholic.

Our program was pretty simple. We listed the major parts of the ceremony including responses, and references to the readings and music. We also printed the words to the hymns (check with your music director about licensing for this). We didn't include sit and stand cues though.

There's a template in my bio... follow the link to the wedding planning bio and it's under Paper & DIY, near the bottom.

thanks ring_pop!  I was trying to figure out how to do it without it getting too busy and I like the way you used the different font colors!

The program didn't include the "sit, stand, kneel" but If you PM me your address, I will send you a copy of the program we used.

Our mass was 100% Catholic attendants.  Our priest still did physical and verbal cues about when to stand, sit, and kneel.  I wouldn't worry about including it in the program.

Ours was about 99% Catholic, and the same.  Our priest reminded everyone of what to do (different church, different priest, different mass, etc).   I can e-mail you my program as well if you would like.

We had probably a 50% Catholic count, so I went into huge detail (including the kneel, stand, etc) and eveyrthing else.  PM me your email address and I can show you what I used!
