Churches in Somerset Nj

My Fiance and I love the Palace in Somerset NJ.  This is not close to home, so I am looking at churches in Somerset.  Does anyone know of any churches where you do not have to be a parishioner and have been engaged less than a year?

    I fell in love with the Palace also!  I'm getting married there on January 4th and can't wait!  I'm not too familiar with churches in the area, but the Palace does offer the option of holding your ceremony on site also (that's what I'm doing).  This might give you more flexibility of not having to be a parishioner of a certain church for a certain period of time before the wedding.  Good luck!!

    We are having the same problem and are looking around to find any churches...we were thinking of contacting our coordinator over at the Palace.  If you hear anything let me know!

    You may want to contact the Diocese of Metuchen Family LIfe office to see if they can help you find a church in that area.


    The steps you need to take to get married in the Catholic Church take some time, which is why the usual requirement is that you contact the parish at least a year in advance of your desired wedding date.

    Congrats Palace brides!  I got married at the Palace last year and couldn't find a church locally.  So, like jnmar701, we opted to get married outside at the Palace.  It was a perfect, intimate setting (we only had 124 people so not sure how it would work for larger groups).  I always envisioned a church wedding, but in the end loved having everyone there and ready to party afterwards.

    We keep asking them and they say they have very little pull.  But they did send me a list of churches! Good Luck

    I am also a Palace bride and opted to marry in my home church Which is 45 minutes away. We were considering FI which was closer. But we left enough in between for travel and pictures.
