Biltmore Estate Wedding

My Fiance and I have been dreaming about having an outdoor wedding at Biltmore Estate. Has anyone ever had their wedding there? Is it a good venue or what? Please help us out. Thanks!

My fiance did his internship for college there! Although it is absolutely beautiful the first thing FI said when I mentioned this post to him was "She better be ready to spend 50k there!" Now, we all know how boys are so I have no idea if this means it is overpriced, or what.... we aren't necessarily on a budget or anything so I was surprised to hear him say that!
When FI worked there he helped set up weddings sometimes and said the the quality of the rentals/tents/chairs/etc were great and the that the staff did a great job with the set up!
    Hope this helps :)

A friend of mine's daughter got married there last summer.  They had the wedding at the estate, I believe, and the reception at the hotel.  I've seen some of the photos and they were absolutely gorgeous.  As noted above, it is not an inexpensive venue.  They used a photographer that's on Style Me Pretty quite a bit, both for the engagement photos and the wedding shots.  Here's a link to her wedding shots, which I think turned out beautifully:  http://woodwardandrick.blogspot.com/search?q=laura
They also went up to the estate for the epix, even though they don't live in Asheville.  More great photos and a really good idea.

The sample video from our videographer was from a reception at Biltmore. They had their ceremony somewhere else and the reception in the vineyards. It looked beautiful and this may be a way to get what you want but cut down on the cost. Either have your ceremony or recpetion at Biltmore if you can't afford both. If you can afford both, I would say go for it. The estate is absolutely stunning. Good luck!

We are getting married in Asheville in May and considered going with Biltmore Estate for our venue.  We toured the Inn as a potential location.  If I remember correctly it was like a $10,000 minimum for food and beverage on a Saturday night and the facility rental fee was $3500 for the ceremony and reception.  It ended up being around $150 per person.  We were looking for a space for about 100 people which is why we looked at the Inn.  In the end we didn't go with Biltmore.  It would have eaten up alot of our budget.  The ceremony location was gorgeous at the Inn but I didnt like the idea of having to just use a tent if it rained.  And I thought it was crazy to pay that much money to have my reception in the hotel banquet room because I could do that anywhere.  We ended up going with Homewood for our ceremony and reception location.  It's very unique and has the sort of castle-like feel I was looking for.  Here is the link to the website if you want to check it out:

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions about wedding stuff in Asheville!

We also looked at the Biltmore (the Inn, Lioncrest, and Deerpark) for our ~120 guest April wedding. They were all gorgeous (Lioncrest was my personal fav), and the staff was very helpful and professional. And lots of items are included in the price, including cake. Some of the locations do daytime events, so that can bring the cost down, but it is still on the pricey side. It is definitely worth checking out though. In the end, we went with Homewood (just like rowlanmd!!! Sorry I don't know your real name!).

    Good luck with your search!!!!

We're having our June 2012 wedding at the Biltmore Estate. I think with the service fees, it's going to be around $6500. We're having a destination wedding though, so we'll only have 30 people.  I think for 100+ guests, you'd be looking at 10K easy.

Other than the site itself, I think the higher price is for the convenience of having all of the food, alcohol, and even the cake, included.  The price isn't bad if you have a very small group, but I couldn't see having a large wedding there without the Vanderbilts themselves paying for it.

Thanks! That really helped alot. We really havent set a budget yet since we just started planning. I was looking at Lioncrest and Homewood too. Out of those two, which is best and less expensive. We are both kinda tight on money. iI greatly appreciate the help.

I had my wedding at the Inn in 2006. It was very expensive, but the service was top-notch. Everyone was wonderful to work with and it was beautiful. I got married on a Sunday evening to save money. I also negotiated with them to remove the open bar and just buy bottles of Biltmore wine. It saved me $20 per person, which added up to a lot.

Overall it was a wonderful experience, though I just finished paying for it last year!

Holy Geez! 4 years?! I don't even want to be paying on my car for that long. Much less paying for a wedding that long.

I'm a very firm believer that one should NOT go into debt over a party. However, that's my opinion. I hope it was everything you could have ever dreamed of!
