Really unruly hair!

I have really curly, but mostly very unruly hair. It tends to frizz instead of properly curl and is almost impossible to shape. On bad hair days it can look absolutely horrible and there is nothing left but to tie it.
Despite all of this, I actually do like my hair. On a good day, I really like the volume, the tiny amount of frizz and the curls.
As far as my wedding is concerned, I'm not sure what I should do. I'd like to look as natural as I can, nothing too far from what I usually look like.
Whenever I go to a hairdresser, I look really nice but totally different because it's a look that's hard to recreate.
So here's my question. What would you do? Should I trust upon the fact that I'll have a good hair day and try my usual curls? Or should I go for a stylish wedding updo? Natural or styled hairdo? Risks or playing safe?

Could use some good ideas :).

Re: Really unruly hair!

  • I have unruly hair as well.  Do you have a stylist you usually go to?  I would ask them what they think would work for you, and I would browse for pictures of wedding hairstyles that remind you of your hair type.

In case it helps, I wear my hair just past shoulder length and have some long layers.  It's naturally curly but when the weather is below 75 degrees and dry I can flat iron it and it will stay straight until I wash it, so I wear my hair both ways but prefer it straight.  For my wedding I plan on having it blown out so it will be smooth with some bounce on the ends, and I'll wear it down with a flower clipped over one ear.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • I would do a trial on a really humid day. And see how it turns out. I am having the Keratin treatment because my hair is similar to yours.
  • Thanks for the ideas! A trial on a wet day is a really good idea!
If it doesn't work, I could aways go for flat ironing or blowing them out!
    Thanks! :)
  • Try using Biosilk Silk Theropy Serum. You can buy it at Wal-mart or your salon (depending on what brand of products they sell)
